Nestled in the vibrant heart of Little Saigon, Z Cafe on Bolsa Avenue beckons diners with promises of authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. With both indoor and patio seating, it offers the perfect setting to savor the rich flavors of Vietnamese delicacies. I opted for the Vietnamese Bahn Mi Chao #5, a combination dish featuring sizzling steak with egg and an array of meats, accompanied by Vietnamese salad and bread. From the moment the dish arrived at my table, I knew I was in for a treat. The aroma of sizzling meat tantalized my senses, and I couldn't wait to dig in. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender and succulent, with just the right amount of char from the sizzling skillet. The addition of the egg added a velvety richness to the dish, complementing the flavors of the meats beautifully. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, from the savory meats to the crisp freshness of the Vietnamese salad. The Vietnamese bread served alongside was the ideal accompaniment, providing a satisfying crunch with every bite. To quench my thirst, I also ordered some freshly squeezed cane juice, a refreshing and invigorating beverage that perfectly complemented the richness of the meal. What truly set Z Cafe apart was the exceptional customer service provided by the staff. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality and offering helpful recommendations. Prepare to be transported on a culinary journey through Vietnam, right in the heart of Little Saigon.

My server Hayden was very nice, and was very efficient in making the boba, which was really good. Shop has nice coffee shop vibes.

Came to Z Cafe a couple times recently. I got their shaken beef and was pleasantly surprised with how good the beef was good ratio of meat/vegetables/rice. The waiter Kevin was very friendly and attending. Checked on us a couple of times throughout the meal an offered us a seasonal drink that they were working on. Would definitely come back again!

I've been coming here often after school to get some studying done! It's such a nice spot to study at, and there's usually tables and outlets free. Their evening menu has a lot of caffeinated drinks and shaved ice! I LOVE THEIR STRAWBERRY MATCHA AND SHAVED ICE!!! The service was also amazing!!!

I had the Jasmine milk tea during their evening menu (5-10pm) and it was sooo good i drank it all before I remembered to take a picture .~. The girl that took my order was so sweet. It was a great place to study and the music was calming.

Drink is good, the staff is nice and the short one is 100% non threatening. The tea isn't as sweet as other places though so keep that in mind if you adjust sweetnes

Tldr: 10/10s all around. I came during the recent grand opening and there are a few things to note. They still serve Vietnamese breakfasts like Bò né. However, after 5 PM, they switch over to a coffee/tea cafe. Service: All the staff were very welcoming and they whipped up all my drinks quickly. Food/Drink: If you're a coffee person, they have both espresso-based drinks as well as Vietnamese coffee. I'm a big Americano guy and the quality of specialty coffee beans definitely shined through. If you prefer boba, they also have various milk teas with housemade boba--all of it just as high quality as the coffee. Their desserts are a real treat as well. Their matcha baobing in particular is phenomenal. Vibes: The interior is chic and well-lit. It strikes a unique balance between a boba shop and a study cafe that totally works. Outdoor seating facing Bolsa is also available.

We came here for brunch and did not regret it! The food was amazing with great everything. The bot chien was some of the best I’ve had. We came in around 10am with no wait and the staff was attentive. Would definitely go back, especially for the bot chien.

The waiter recommended the Bo Ne Chao. Order- Bo Ne Chao Combination ( A steak and eggs skillet) & sugar cane juice and iced water Steak was cubed and chewy. Unknown wedge, I did not want to try it. Goat cheese wedge, why? House sauce which tasted like tomato paste We asked for the sugar cane juice with no kumquat but there were clearly kumquat inside. I didn't get my water until the end of our meal. Ambiance - smelled like cigarettes.
