Very disappointed in quality of prime rib. Order my usual Medium Rare and the rib was not rested before cutting causing the meat to be dry. Unfortunately the server wanted me to initiate contact with Jose the manager. I guest she was afraid to make a complaint to Jose or she does not know the art of resting meat. She thought a plate of blood is normal for a medium rare order.
Always like going to Council Oak Restaurant. Service is always great and the food is fantastic.
We booked reservations for our wedding anniversary. They promptly sat us at a nice booth table and took our beverage order. Everyone was very nice and wished us a happy anniversary several times throughout the evening. The food was cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend!
We had an amazing meal here last Saturday night. The food was delicious, steaks were prepared perfectly and our server, Justin, couldn't have been better. We will definitely eat here again.
Love the this restaurant BUT when event are happening they wint serve outside bar food. That's not good. We traveled there and wanted to enjoy a good dinner and they didn't serve food unless u paid to do the wine dinner.
This is the second time dinning at the Council Oak both times was absolutely wonderful. Our food was on point hot and very tasty. Our waitress who had served us this evening and the last evening we went is a part of the dinning experience that makes it wonderful very attentive and professional knowledgeable about the restaurant and the wine. Thank you for hosting us on Saturday night. We intend on visiting the hotel and restaurant again this next Monday and Tuesday.
The service staff was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. We had ribeye steaks, brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. For dessert we had carrot cake and it was the best ever!
Took way too long to bring the food out to our table. The Filet tasted terrible overall the food was not great. Not worth the wait not worth the price.
We had show tickets to see Sting last night.( $800) We showed up for our 5:45 reservation for dinner. By 8:00 showtime.. We still had not received our dinner. Waitress shoukd have managed this .. manager was very apologetic once i got ip to hunt him down. We left very hungry disappointed and bewildered at how you just forget about a table being fed. We had ordered scallops and salmon. Pretty quick dishes to fire .🔥. Sad.. unorganized.. Ill never ever go back to Hard-rock Wheatland.
Excellent food, prep and service.

Wednesday, May 28, 2025: We arrived at Council Oaks Steaks & Seafood at 6:30pm for our 6:45pm reservation. We were early because we were attending a Sting concert at 8:00pm. They seated us five minutes late at 6:50pm. Nate, the waiter came to our table and we ordered promptly at 7:00pm. At 7:30pm, with no food served, we paid $81.19 plus $25 tip ($106.19) in order not to delay our departure after eating. But our dinner never came. At 7:45 I asked Nate for a "to-go" bag to take the food order home. At 7:55pm, with still no food served and no "to-go" bag, we left the restaurant. It's only a couple of minutes' walk across the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Sacramento to the venue and we were on time (8:00pm) for the amazing Sting concert. It was nearly an hour between ordering and leaving the restaurant without food being served. We do not know if or when our dinner order was delivered to our table. Do you think I'll get a refund?
I had a reservation for 6:30 -8 with the Sting concert starting at 8. I was seated on time but it was 15 min before the waiter was able to come to my table and take my order. The waiter apologized and told me they sat 5 table all at the same time. At 7:30 I called the waiter over to ask him to check on my order. He did and told me there were multiple people ahead of me and he couldn't give me an estimate of when I would get dinner. I told him that was unacceptable since I had a concert at 8. He talked to the manager who came back 5 min later and told me that they wouldn't deliver my dinner for another 7-8 minutes. I told the manager the reservation was only until 8 so obviously you were expecting me to be done with my meal by then. The manager then went back to the kitchen and came back with my dinner. I think I finally got my dinner between 7:45-7:50. Needless to say I had to get a doggy bag. I picked your restaurant because I wanted to have nice dinner and savor my food. I don't mind paying a lot for dinner but I expect good service to come along with the food. FYI- the waiter was very courteous and gave me as good service as he could under the circumstances.
The food was unexpectedly lovely and the service was really great. They are all professionals. This was an unexpected pleasure. If you go on a concert night, it might be wise to book early with a reservation 3 hours prior to start of concert. As you can imagine, concert nights are often sold out and taxing of the staff. We really enjoyed our meal.
we arrived at 5:45 to have dinner before the 8 o'clock show. We got our salad and never received our dinner so finally 8 o'clock as the show is starting I had to get up and hunt down a manager to find out why we weren't fed. We left very hungry.. unbelievable..
Me and my husband had a bad experience at the tequila dinner on the 22 of May.
