Cena Vegan - Whittier

Yeah, no joke. EVERYTHING is made from scratch. I ordered the 4 taco combo, 2 barbacoa and 2 mushroom. I liked the barbacoa a little better, but they were both terrific. The tortillas were fresh made and able to stay together under the oppression of the juicy insides. It came with pickled onions, which I devoured with delight! Haven’t had BOMB *authentic* Mexican food like this since I wasn’t vegan 🥹 So delicious, you won’t regret

Located inside a brewery with other shops and video games. Cool spot to hang out. My food was good, but not great. However, the horchata was super good.

Been sleeping on this place for awhile but so glad I finally tried it! The food is quality, hot, affordable, and delicious. I got the tres taquitos and a v Gansito on the side with vegan horchata. Confident everything on their menu is as delicious as everything I ate. Try if you're in the area

Though the menu offers an exciting number of vegan proteins, there appears to be an issue with quality control.

What went well:
Made to order corn tortillas: pliable and tasty.
Incredibly spicy salsa option.
Customer service and explanation of the menu.
Guacamole.
Ambiance as part of the brewery lineup.
Tacos were absolutely loaded with protein.

What missed the mark:
The barbacoa and birria, two of their gluten-free soy options, had the consistency of very thin pad Thai and tasted off, sour and lacking salt. It unfortunately smelled like canned tuna, which is not what I want to smell in a reimagined beef taco. I could not get past one bite of either.
Asada was leagues better, but still wouldn’t come back for it, as it was dry. This was a wheat-soy option.

Was hoping to have a fun vegan option since I’m no longer near a Veggie Grill, but the protein recipes need work in both taste and texture.

Probably the best vegan place around in the LA area, The nachos were delicious and the burrito was packed with veggies and protein of your choice The portions are so big, you cant finish the burrito by yourself take a friend and enjoy it

I'm disappointed this time I ordered a dad's dish with barbecue but it had no flavor, the most delicious were the beans, my wife and my mother-in-law ordered tacos and they all had no flavor, it's sad why I came because I already knew this place for its dishes, now I don't I know what happened

I used to hit up some Cena Vegan pop ups in the day, but hadn’t had their food in forever because I do not live in California anymore. When my first choice was closed early, I checked out the situation with Cena - the “ghost kitchen” had originally deterred me. They have a counter within a food hall and there are tons of places to sit, and beers to drink. The food is so good I could cry.

We have been here twice and we love it! It's also really cool because its inside a brewery, so you can order some beer with your food.

Cena Vegan is located inside Whittier Brewing, they have burritos, tacos, tortas, horchata, nachos and other food options. They are a small kitchen inside the brewery so come get your vegan burrito and have the option to grab yourself a beer while you wait.

Every time I try to visit, it's closed. :(
