Finally a good, fine dine-in Mediterranean experience in Whittier! Formerly Colonia Publica (Mexican cusine). Their new Mediterranean menu did not disappoint.

The place is unique , because when I watching by the windows honestly I don't have idea is a restaurant. But I walk to go in ..and looks nice in side, the food is really good but the portions is too small. Can I make a suggestion? Please clean the windows

The bar was small, maybe 5 or 6 chairs. They should rearrange the bar supplies, as it takes away from the bar's ambiance (see photo). The place where they store the supplies makes it look like a fast food joint. The food looked good but I only had guac n chips, but it also came with chipotle black bean dip. Very yummy!?

Came the for the sopita de fideo you basically get to pick from a list of ingredients to add to it and it was yummy. They have creative miche options but the best one for me was the Roja.

This place is a must try, everytime i visit Whittier & can stop to eat this is my go to. Everytime I've gone there is almost never a wait & even if there was it's worth the wait. The ambiance is great, warm, friendly conversations and smiles every where. The Food is always scorching hot & DELICIOUS! Drinks are balanced & flavorful. Food and drinks are priced decently. This place is a summer spot for micheladas & food. Do yourself a favor and try the pork belly tacos, potato tacos, cauliflower tacos & michelada flight ?Vegetarian options: They have tasty vegetarian options, the cauliflower tacos & potato tacos are soooooo good, a must try actually !Dietary restrictions: They vegetarian options & if you have dairy issues (like me) they will kindly accommodate you!

Sopa de Fideo! A traditional Latin soup with New Era flair. They offer a list of about 20 ingredients that U can add to your soup so U get all the flavors U want. Can't say enough about it, I finish my bowl every time. In addition, full bar and a variety of House blended Micheladas for U to choose from. It's in Whitter so we can't go often living in L.A but whenever we are out that way it's out go-to spot.

Nice place, great food, excellent service. Just need a little more space but they are doing the best with the available space.

Wonderful service! Their tacos are to die for. I recommend the taco flight...a work of art!

I have eaten at this location on numerous occasions. Today, November 26, 2022, at 8:15 pm ( for owner/management reference) the service was absolutely horrible. Young employees with no customer service skills, standing around ,avoiding clearing tables and providing service. After signing in and standing with my family waiting for over 20 minutes; watching employees standing around, talking to each other, while another employee was eating behind the bar, we had enough and left. While running a restaurant is not my area of expertise, it doesn't take much to know when stronger supervision is needed. Had it been a busy evening with minimal staffing, I could understand. however this was not the case.

When it's cold outside gotta go to Colonia Publica for some fideo soup. Like their order slips that you check off all the ingredients you want included in your soup. So good when you are craving hot soup. They have other delicious Mexican items too like burritos, tacos and enchiladas. Ambiance is ok, a little sterile for me and service is decent but the soup is to die for.

HIDDEN GEM EATS If you're in downtown Whitter this is a must try. It's a good spot for a lunch or dinner date. This place has authentic delicious savory Mexican food you could think about for days. When you're feeling like comfort food got to enjoy that big bowl of hot fideo soup . What's great about the fideo is its custom made to your liking with many toppings. Just know you pay for those toppings then its really worth it. The tacos are amazing too. This place has a new article written about their amazing food too.

My food always bomb and service is usually great too but last night when I ordered a mimosa I got a dirty musty look from your male server with the glasses for no reason. I don’t appreciate the fact I go to eat somewhere and treat people with respect and all they have to do is fake it for 2 mins but this young boy couldn’t even do that he has to go and give me dirty looks for ordering a drink ? Not my fault you hate your job. Get a new one and don’t be an A** bite

We were in the area and came across this restaurant and decided to try it out. Unfortunately the experience was not what we were expecting. The greeter and server weren't too welcoming but I understand that sometimes people have bad days. I saw someone say that it was almost as if they were "inconveniencing" the wait staff and we also felt the same way. The 3 stars however, are for the food. The food was extremely underwhelming. My daughter had the kids quesadilla and it had no flavor to it. My wife had the ceviche and it was very sweet. As a family we like to sample each others plates and I agreed with their opinion on the food. Shortly put, it was underwhelming and lacked flavor.

We stopped by Colonia Publica during one of our weekly visits to Uptown Whittier and it was clearly an off night for the restaurant. I was disappointed by the lack of attention we received from the wait staff and it affected what should have been a nice night out for my wife and me. Multiple times we had to ask staff about the status of our order, get refills on water, more napkins, etc. Maybe it's a training issue? But the restaurant needs to do better by its customers. We ordered botana publica, chalipitas and an adobo quesadilla. All were fine, not remarkable. There are better choices in Whittier, where you will receive more attentive service.
