We took my mom here for her birthday dinner on the Friday after Thanksgiving when we arrived the place was pretty much empty, which was good for us because there was 12 of us. We were greeted and accommodated nicely. They put us in the back room with the large table And we were happy because we had our own private room that we didn't even know even existed we have been here before several times and I have never had an issue. Sadly I have to report that this time the service build sauce all over my mom and we don't mind that part because we understand things happen accidents happen but what we do Have to complain about is they didn't even offer to comp anything for that incident and they charged us for my mom‘s birthday celebration which I thought was really rude. I've never went to a restaurant where they charge to sing happy birthday and give a free shot. They charged $10 to bring out the skull and sing happy birthday and then $12 for the Mexican candy shot. I guess the server Told me they charged but I did not hear her otherwise I would've not accepted it anyways they ended up taking that part off the bill and taking a plate off of the bill, but we shouldn't have had to ask. It was a little bit embarrassing for us to have to ask. The food was not very good this time. It was just kind of an unfortunate night, but I'm usually happy at that place. I just wish they would have been more thoughtful to accommodate us since that guy spilled salsa all over my mom literally all over her.

The manager seemed incompetent, not knowledgeable on the menu. Waited about 15 mins at the bar for the next mimosas considering it’s “bottomless”. Not very accommodating and overall just a horrible experience. Never ever choosing Kalaveras again. Head to Aunties down the street if you really want quality food and service.

Came to Kalaveras in Whittier for tacos, beer, and Rock en Espanol. The first song was luna de miel ny Virus; the last 5 songs have been a 1960’s song by Frankie Valle, Bobby Marley song, cumbia song, and an unknown song. False advertising.

I visited for breakfast and it was pretty empty, so I expected quick service. Unfortunately, the experience was frustrating from the start. I had to repeat my order multiple times because the waiter kept asking me over and over what I wanted. I’m not sure why he didn’t just write it down with a pen and paper—it felt disorganized and unnecessary.

When the food finally arrived, it was cold and lacked any real flavor. It was disappointing to pay for a meal that felt rushed and didn’t even taste good. Honestly, I won’t be coming back for breakfast again.

Music too loud, floors are so sticky your souls of your shoes get stuck to the floor.
Server was great. Tacos were awesome. Just had to talk really loud to hear what friends were saying.

Food is real good.. Very regimented almost like the employees are not allowed to have fun. It was really busy so it must be working for the patrons and the owners.

Kimberly was awesome! My group has been there for a while but she remembered us and my food allergies. She made suggestions, which were great, and was an fantastic host! We'll be back!!!!

The food was ok I’m not a big onion fan and almost everything has onions. The one thing I did not like that’s why I lowered my rating is the ice in the drinks was excessive. You get more ice than anything else.

I really enjoyed this place last time, however this visit was disappointing. I ordered the Mocajete and there were fruit flies or nats found in my rice and beans. I told our server but he didn’t seem very concerned, he said he would bring fresh beans and rice however I had kinda of lost my taste at that point. Also noticed we weren’t offered chips and salsa when we were seated while other tables had them. The place was quite empty for a Sunday so wondering if it’s due to the issues described. Lastly, they advertised tribute shows of Selena and mariachi and neither was played for entertainment.

I really wasn't expecting much it was my first time coming to this restaurant but their Taco Tuesday was actually something to come back to they have a lot of different choices for the meat and the food actually was really good.

I don’t really like chains, but I think that kalaveras has kept it consistent throughout the years. They still kept the same vibe, kept the same type of menu, and promote the same type of night.

The server was super friendly and happy to answer our questions.

Wasn’t packed and we were served right away!
