The bread looks good, but unfortunately we believe is all the same dough rolled up in different ways. The bread is not bad tasting, but is doughy. We liked the smaller cuernito. That was tasty, like small town homemade bread.

Been around for around 30 years , used to be the best up until about 4 or 5 years. The quality has gone down as far as the pork green tamales got a couple today says new recipe no bueno , also the green pork have VERY LITTLE STUFFING. Like thin the bread also is lacking in freshness , I Never review except this I keep regretting ordering from there and if your an OG find a new spot it’s not the same

This place has been around for years and years. You know why? Because they have the BEST pan dulce and CARNITAS in town. The pan dulce is made with something very special I don't know what it is but the bread is so rich and delicious. Now the carnitas, ay Dios mio. Crispy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. That salsa is on another level of goodness. This little bakery provides so many flavors under one roof. Oh and the girls working there are extremely polite and friendly! I live in Las Vegas now but whenever I come to visit family I make sure to stop by and get all the good stuff 😁

The carnitas were delicious with the nice burnt ends and the green and red pork tamales had great flavor in the meat and masa. Unfortunately, they were out of beef and chicken tamales.

I was referred to LA Moderna by a friend who swore by their tamales. He wasn't lying. They are delicious. One of the best around Pico Rivera and Whittier. I used to go to Durans bakery in Pico, but they no longer make tamales. La Moderna has freshly made pan as well. For the past two years, I have gotten my Christmas tamales here. My entire family loves them. You won't be disappointed. Now, I understand people have different taste buds and some may not like their tamales, but for us normal people, you'll love them. Give them a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Been coming here for years , But not coming back I ordered 12 tamales 8 red pork /4 cheese they were undercooked. I had ordered 8 red pork and four cheese, but received 8 red pork and 4 pork green this happens more often …the size of tamales are small very pricey and when calling the store no one ever answers.. what’s upsetting is that all spent big bucks than through them away. I can handle errors once in awhile but all the time no way…And the pan Dulce is old… Sincerely, never coming back for the tamales.
