Had a great first experience dining at Lucky Pig. Food was amazing! We tried a variety of dishes from Hire Katsu, Ball Katsu, Omurice, and Katsu Sando. All items were outstanding! Service was great, and the restaurant was clean and well kept. We will be back! Highly recommend giving them a try!

The food was excellent. The pork loin was cooked perfectly. Was moist, tender and very delicious. I like the way the sauce was presented and you can slice it up to your taste with the hot yellow mustard and/or chili relish they put in the side.
The proprietor takes really good care of his customers. He is attentive and very kind. My sister loves this place and goes at least one a week since they opened
Week days in the evenings are not crowded, but weekends there is usually a line, the food is that good.

Lucky Pig has incredible food and great service. I noticed their cooks are very diligent and it certainly seems like they only use high quality ingredients. This is not your ordinary, run-of-the-mill katsu joint. If you know their style, you know what good food is. I will 100% be back to eat again! Thank you Lucky Pig!

I am quite pleased to see Whittier is getting more of a variety of food in the city. If you're looking for some thick cut pork katsu that is perfectly fried, juicy and I'm thinking brined before fried look no further this is the place. I also enjoy the spicier green chili given with this meal set. I also tried the omurice which was very good, but not as awesome as the katsu set.
The omurice had some meaty chunks in it that gave it a bit more substance in it. The matcha- yuzu lemonade was also surprisingly tasty. My least favorite thing here was the yuzu panacotta which was just okay, it was just a bit too watery for my liking. I definitely be back for the katsu sandos and the croquettes. Definitely dig the music choice of the 80s jpop for some chill vibes.

Always trust the chef (& owner), especially at Lucky Pig, a restaurant in a small shopping plaza in Whittier, California. Their menu offers incredible tasting dishes and flavors from both Japanese and Korean cuisines, with their katsu and omurice options now becoming my new cravings for when I need Asian comfort foods??
✨If you’ve never dipped anything in Onsen Tamago before, try it here. It was actually my first time (thank you for the recommendation Chef!) and it was a life changer✨
We had: ?Hire Katsu (pork tenderloin katsu, less fat, juicy and very tender), ?Omurice with Ball Katsu (ground beef and pork, tomato gravy sauce), ?Onsen Tamago (sous-vide egg seasoned with truffle tsuyu), ?Tataki Kyuri (Japanese smashed cucumber salad), ?Matcha Yuzu-Ade, ?Yuzu Panna Cotta

Lucky Pig in Whittier is an absolute gem! They offer a delicious variety of Japanese comfort food that I can't stop thinking about. I tried the omurice, and it was fluffy, savory, and perfectly paired with their tomato-based sauce. The ball katsu is a must-try if you're in the mood for a fun twist on traditional pork cutlet. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was full of flavor.

hello
It's a pig passing by.?
My experience of eating pork cutlet for 30 years speaks for itself.
Hirekatsu here is by far the best pork cutlet in America.
Since I don't come here often, I'll order two next time I come.
I don't know because I haven't tried anything else, but trust me and eat Hirekatsu.
please

The Katsu was really good and tender. Cooked just right so that the meat was not undercooked, but it was also very tender. The service was awesome. The sauce on the salad was amazing and unique. The sauce for the meat was really flavorful as well. I highly recommend a place to anyone who is looking for some amazing katsu!

I went to the Lucky Pig for the first time with my family and enjoyed it! I had delicious udon noodles and my parents had the pork katsu which they thought was tasty. The staff was courteous and I appreciated the cozy atmosphere. It does get busy and the space is small, but it didn't detract from my experience. Great place!
I really love omurice and haven’t had good omurice for a very big while since I left Asia. This place does very good omurice and they have great katsu ball pairing. I think the sauce was a bit too strong compared to those I had in Japan, but considering the smoothness of the egg texture, it made me very fullfilled for the next few days. One thing that concerned me but was solved by asking the server. The katsu looks pink but they’re just the brine color. They’re properly cooked so don’t worry!
