Been coming here my entire life, the food here is amazing and I always love to bring my friends and family. The tacos, plates, and burritos are all so amazing!

As a long-time customer, I’m genuinely disappointed. I stopped in after having lunch elsewhere, simply hoping to cool down and enjoy a michelada. I was denied service and told, “this isn’t a bar.”

The interaction felt dismissive and uncomfortable. The way I was looked at made the situation feel unnecessary and unwelcoming. If there is a policy regarding alcohol service, it should be clearly posted and applied consistently to everyone.

My company has used Ortegas for catering at multiple events, but based on this experience, I’ll need to reconsider where we take our business moving forward. I hope management takes the time to review their policies and ensure they are communicated clearly and enforced fairly. You can’t just make up rules as the customer is standing right in front of your face.

We had the whole fried fish and a carnitas burrito.

I was disappointed!
I bought fresh oysters and when I got home/ready to prep them, some of them were opened (unable to eat) so that took from what I was able to make for the family!
My advice, open the bag and check each oyster so that your able to enjoy what you pay for!!

First time eating here and both the food and service were great. Had a molcajete with asada chorizo and shrimp and one was enough for three people!

They have really good seafood and it’s fresh, but lately the shrimp ceviche has too much veins left im going to call and complain.

My favorite seafood restaurant in all of Whittier. Fresh, delicious and the finest quality seafood dishes. I highly recommend the camarones al ajo, tasty mojarra frita and great shrimp cocktails.

Food is delicious, I’ve been here multiple times but the service is terrible on a Saturday evening. Yesterday my family and I sat down and a rude waitress brought us menus and said someone else will be right with us. After waiting 10-15 min the rude waitress brought chips and drinks to a table behind us that came in after we did. When we asked someone else to take our order, that rude waitress told them no and that someone else will take our order. We walked out and went somewhere else that would NOT make us wait ON PURPOSE. What was the reason?

I think Ortega forgot how to clean their shrimp. I’ve been coming here for a long time and just recently noticed that they’re not deveined at all.

No just seafood. Huge selection. Delicious 😋
