I have been here several times and food is great! Customer service is also great. I gave atmosphere is not good or bad. It all depends on how you like being around people and the noise. I really love the way they season the food specially the asparagus! Everything right on point.

Tried a bunch of food spots here at Rodeo 72 and wanted to give this steak shop a try and was honestly the most underwhelming of what I had. I got the Picanha steak cut Medium Rare with the Cowboy butter. The steak was average at best. I don’t think the Fat cap was rendered completely which led to a chewy meat and the flavor was slightly there but needed more salt. Maybe the burgers or their prime cuts are better in flavor but first impression not stellar.

The Butcher's Burger was well-sized and cooked perfectly. Good balance of garlic/arugula and caramelized onion/dried tomato, and clean presentation. Lots of flavor and texture without overpowering the flavor of the meat. My favorite part was actually the mushrooms cooked in beef tallow. I tried them before the burger and was pleasantly surprised by the richness.

8/15/2025 This our first time giving this place a try, it is inside a food hall called Rodeo 72 in Whittier, CA. We were not sure what to expect, maybe something close to our standard family restaurant type steaks, maybe? We find these steaks elegant and delicious, and pricey too, we're not kidding but it was worth it; my husband had the 12 oz rib eye with Cowboy butter along with asparagus, mine was the filet mignon with truffle butter also with asparagus. We should have ordered one asparagus because we could have shared it and two beverages. We were surprised and yet pleased with our meals. They may look small, but they are mighty. We would recommend to friends and family to give it a try. Staff was friendly and helpful when we had questions, wonderful service too.

We ordered the 12oz steak but I’m pretty sure they gave us 8oz. It was really small for $38. The flavor was good, but we were definitely expecting a full 12oz for that price. Not sure we’d come back again
Primal Cuts in Whittier is an amazing spot for anyone who loves high-quality meats done right. The steaks are always cooked perfectly right when you order them I’ve honestly never had even an average experience they are that good. Their burgers are also insane whether it’s the smash burgers or their butchers burger fresh with original toppings that make them even better and the fries are without a doubt the best fries I’ve ever had nice thin cut crispy fries that are just as good as the burger . You can tell everything here is made fresh and they honestly they care about the food they are putting out . The staff is always fast, nice, and welcoming and do everything with a smile on their face . Whether you’re in the mood for a steak dinner or just want to crush some wings and a burger, Primal Cuts always hits the spot. I’ve been here multiple times and can’t recommend it enough and can’t wait until they next time I get to go Highly recommend!
