Closing its doors Saturday 11/27/2021. Really sad to see it close.... good news tho they are they are reopening back up in Uptown 2022 Lets see what Uptown does with the space that forced them to close.

Came in on my day off for some breakfast because we heard this place was closing soon. We were waiting for a while to be seated. Food was okay but the service this time around was absolutely horrible we waiting 5 min for a refill. Sabrina our waitress even looked at our table and walked past us. Since the service was bad i had decided not to tip and we always tip here because usually we are served by ruben and he is so attentive and friendly. Anyways i get my check and pay 36 and change. I left my receipt on the table because i knew how much i spent that day and i get notified on my phone so i wasn't worried about keeping my receipt, Come to find out the following day that total changed to 41$ Sabrina had charged herself a 5$ tip that she did not deserve. I was sooo heated i had to drive after work to figure out how I was charged more then what i signed for. I cannot believe the audacity this is fraud and theft. If you come here watch out for Sabrina she might steal your money. I am thankful that Shelby was sympathetic to the situation and really helped me out. I was refunded the 5$ but i still had to drive over here and waste my time to confront this problem. The money isn't the issue it was the disrespect and the fact that she practically stole my money by charging my card to write in her own tip. Lesson learned i will always keep my receipt.

On September 8, 2010, my wife & I had our 1st date here. 3 weeks later. At this very same place. Same booth. I asked her to marry me. Food great then, food is even better now.

Cool little nostalgic café in the heart of Whittier. Came in for lunch and got the Club sandwich with fries. Sandwich was excellent, fresh and nice quality meats and veggies. There was enough here for me to have two meals. Staff was friendly, courteous and enjoyable to talk to.

I am very sad and disappointed of this place. Saturday Brunch Date with my husband, starving and in a good mood. We come here for a quick bite just because of the reviews. First, the waitress is VERY kind and honest. She tells me Don't get the mashed potatoes and gravy... it's sausage gravy and light. That should have been the first clue. I ordered chicken and waffles. Waffles were okay, just cold, but the chicken.... OMG. Where is the next emergency room..... it was gross, gross, gross. Old, smelly, not fresh and dry. Honest to God I tried to eat and enjoy it but no matter what, it was just not good. Listen to me or don't, I really don't care, it's your money. But if you ask me, turn around and find another place to eat. Good reviews for the waitress, very honest, attentive and fast. Hands down. However, Bad food for sure. I hope the owners takes these reviews and changes/updates the menus to #FRESHFOOD.
A sight to behold from the outside, but there's nothing else to save this small diner.The menu is small and simple, offering typical diner options, which is great when the food is good, however, it's both underwhelming and unsatisfactory. So much so , I spent my time eating thinking: I should have gone elsewhere. Somewhere where the prices actually match the quality. Unfortunately, this was not one of them.

We love coming here! Ruben is the greatest! He is the reason for the 5 stars. The food is pretty delicious and tasty. The Sweet potato fries are INCREDIBLE! They are different here and worth it!

I enjoyed my dinning experience here. It's such a cute place to hang out. I felt like I stepped into a time machine and entered into the 50s. We ordered breakfast and it was very filling. There buttermilk pancakes were so delicious. There homemade red salsa was soooo good. Plus our waiter was so friendly and nice. All the waiters were so attentive and catered to their customers. The vibe is so rock n roll. I love how they have lottery machines everywhere including the symbol on their cups. I would definitely come back and dine here.
