Decided to take my wife on date night to Roy’s on Topanga. We got there at 8:45 p.m. and the place was not that busy. There were many empty tables. Sat down and ordered Sushi for appetizers and was sadly disappointed. The taste and quality of the rice and ingredients were just not par with other restaurants in the area.My wife ordered the grilled salmon, again a disappointment. I ordered the 8 oz filet mignon and although the meat was tender, the taste was no better than grilling a store bought steak on a BBQ and dumping store bought meat sauce . It just didn't rise to the level of Wow. The food taste and quality do not justify the prices. Disappointed that I dropped $150 and we really didn’t enjoy our mealsThe service was slow.. we were asked from the moment we sat down and ordered our main entre if we wanted to order dessert in advance because it takes 20 minutes to make, which the question in itself seemed odd, but we ordered our dessert nevertheless. After eating our meals - which took about 30-40 minutes - we expected the dessert to be delivered within a reasonable time yet we had to wait once again.Three stars is all I can give this place, unfortunately.

Chilly but wonderful dinner experience...Visited this past Monday to celebrate my bf's birthday. I made reservations for 4 but 2 in the party were a surprise for my bf. Roy's worked with me to keep the other 2 under wraps. Due to Covid-19, indoor seating was closed. Roy's set up a wonderful outdoor eating area under a large white tent with a few outdoor standing heaters. It was a similar set up to an outdoor wedding banquet. The menu had a wonderful selection of Hawaiian Infusion foods. Being a vegetarian, I opted for the Herb Grilled Vegetable Napoleon. The others in my party ordered the Chicken Springroll, the Seabass entrée, the Hibachi Style Salmon, the Blackened Island Ahi and wine (Federalist and Boneshaker). Our food was delivered relatively quickly, in decent portion, beautifully plated and absolutely delicious. Service was outstanding. Our server, Sean A., was super friendly, well humored, helpful and attentive.Pricing was typical of that of a high end chain restaurant. This was a great place to celebrate a birthday. They even gave the guest of honor a birthday dessert and birthday card. My only suggestion is... a few more outdoor hea

I want to personally acknowledge the incredible work and preparation presented by Roy's in Woodland Hills. My only other time I'd visited the restaurant was the location in Pasadena which sadly closed so I was curious to give it a try at the one closest to my work place. I conveniently made a reservation online and was able to get seated even earlier with the help of the hostess. The precautions taken for socially distant seating and cleanliness was exceptional. The tables were very far apart from one another and the servers all wore masks and face shields, as well as gloves. We ordered drinks, entrees and lots of dessert because....why not?JALAPEÑO MARGARITA 5/5: Spicy and actually strong. Yes. RYE ME A RIVER 5/5: I liked this one even more because of the fusion of whiskey, honey and other flavors. Delicious!BRAISED SHORT RIBS 5/5: The ribs melted off with each bite. The vegetables were nicely roasted. Everything was rich and flavorful. GRILLED FILET MIGNON 5/5: Friend's dish. Gotta give a shout-out to the gritted scalloped potatoes served in a decadent cube. The real MVP. CHILEAN SEA BASS 5/5: Very light and nicely flavored. Loved the gravy/sauce. KAFFIR LIME TART 5/5: My favorite dessert of the three. Tart, creamy and sweet at the same time. PINEAPPLE UPSIDE-DOWN CAKE 4/5: Their famous coconut pineapple cake with ice cream. Creamy and sweet. The ice cream was already melting by the time it arrived but still pretty good.HOT CHOCOLATE SOUFFLÉ 5/5: So rich and so delicious. Nicely paired with the ice cream. The ambiance was pretty nice considering we were seated in the entrance parking area, but it's the best we can do at these times! The service was wonderful and extremely friendly. We'd highly recommend this place for a safe and delicious outing during the pandemic. PARKINGFree, available outdoors

Excellent service, delicious food.We had the lobster bisque to start and its so delicious. The classic four dish is one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. And the chocolate souffle was very good.

This outing to celebrate a couple of birthdays was great. The tables were spaced out well outside but heaters would have been useful. The food was good, the drinks were even better, and the dessert was the best. The server was nice and they covered dessert for the birthday girls. I would recommend this spot for celebrations.

Roy's was super awesome said 1990. Seriously guys you've been resting on your laurels for 30 years. I realzie we're in a pandemic but put some effort in and take some pride people. The pork spare rib appetizer was hard as a rock. Obviously made some time in the morning and warmed up with some sauce slapped on to cover up the dryness. The braised short rib was the same, dry with a bizarre sauce on top that was mostly whole grain mustard. Do better guys. Won't be back, unless we're unfortunate enough to get another gift card.

Even though we ate in the parking lot, the food was excellent as was the service. It was a lovely evening. Hawaiian martinis are the best.

Been awhile since we were here. Its all outside now. It kind of adds to the Hawaiian atmosphere. Good food and service. Outstanding Miso butter sauce. Lobster potstickers rock. Manager is really nice.

I eat here a lot since I work right next to it. I love how their customer service is always excellent and they keep the spot well kept consistently. Pricing is fair and they serve sizeable portions.

Food as always was great. Completely understand they are improvising with the outdoor dining and appreciate the effort! The tiger shrimp and aloha roll was awesome!4 stars because I wish they could put a little more effort into the parking lot ambiance. Perhaps a pressure wash of the parking lot so you aren't eating atop chewing gum and oil stains would help spruce it up a bit. Or some AstroTurf style carpet would improve the atmosphere. We will be back, but maybe request a table on the sidewalk.
