I’ve visited many wineries in both the U.S. and France, and unfortunately, Thomas Fogarty ranks as one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The lack of management and customer care completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing afternoon.
On a beautiful Saturday, my husband and I decided to visit after seeing on their website that they offer a “casual walk-in mini flight.” We drove 40 minutes, excited to enjoy some wine and the beautiful scenery. When we arrived, one of the two staff members told us she needed to check with the manager and asked us to wait. We sat there for about 20 minutes while she continued to serve other guests, only to be told later that they couldn’t accommodate us — even though there were clearly several open tables.
It was obvious they were severely short-staffed, but instead of communicating that upfront, they left us waiting without any consideration. The lack of organization and respect for customers was disappointing and frustrating. The staff seemed stressed, which made the atmosphere tense and far from enjoyable.
To top it off, the wine is overpriced for the quality. With so many amazing wineries in the Bay Area that truly value their guests, this one is not worth your time.
Had a good time, good wine good food
Really solid wines. Though they to and to steer towards traditional tastes great if you are looking for a guaranteed good time.
What a wonderfull experience the thomas fogarty winery was. Good wine and nice food pairing with a beautifull vieuw on the winery
Very disappointing experience. There were no signs saying they were at capacity, and we saw empty tables. A staff member welcomed us and said they’d take care of us, but another abruptly turned us away when she heard we didn’t have a reservation. The attitude felt rude and dismissive, and the interaction came across as discriminatory. Poor customer service—we won’t be back.
Absolutely a great tour of the vineyard and the winery with a lot of great details on the history, the vine cultivation and wine making. On top of the tour, we have been delighted by the wine tasting, with all the different type of wines, through the different domain and vintage. We really enjoyed our time at the winery and I highly recommend this tour and tasting to everyone.
We biked past, were welcomed in, and bought a bottle of amazing rose. Very friendly and knowledgeable host!
Not family friendly
I'll give this 3 stars as I was kicked out for bringing my child. Not being from California I didn't know that was a thing, most states allow children under 21, so that was a disappointment considering the drive it takes just to get up there but the views were beautiful and their property is lovely. Just don't bring your kids
Overpriced wine. The name on the bottle doesn't help sell it. The guy has a horrible reputation locally.

This is a beautiful venue for weddings and special celebrations!
I planned and coordinated a wedding here and it was a pleasure to work with Kristin and Susan.
Our clients were very well taken care of and the wedding looked fabulous!
I recommend this winery if you are looking for indoor and outdoor venue in one, which also has stunning views!

Not worth the trip; service is so so, the reds are alright overall. Not a bad place to stop, relax and enjoy a tasting if you’re on your way to Monterey or traveling north to the Bay Area. The Pinot & Cabernet are good- one employee mentioned that around thanksgiving time they offer discounts when shopping online.
We had an amazing first visit at TF. The views are beautiful and the red wine selection is fantastic. However what made our experience was Ali she was so much fun and knowledgeable. We will be back Ali thanks so much!
Great afternoon spent here tasting on the delicious Pinot Noirs, Cab Franc’s and Rose’s. Our wine host was Catherine and she was terrific in sharing her knowledge about the wines and made our afternoon really fun enjoyable. My faves are the Rose and the Pinot Noir’s - fantastic!
Dropped in based on an “open wine tasting”sign and an open gate.
Turned away despite a 30% full “tasting” bar, room and patio.
Website says a “reservation is required but sometimes they take walk-ins before 4pm” (sometimes??).
They offered to sell us a bottle and let us open it. So will Whole Foods for a lot less trouble and cost.
Wineries with reservations know to use a gate to keep their parking lot from overflowing and to keep would-be patrons from being turned away. Otherwise, it is a lousy first experience.
Thomas Fogerty does not care how much time potential customers spend parking, walking up their hill and leaving with nothing.
Gave it an extra star for stunning views but the ambiguous and arbitrarily applied rules were a humiliating waste of a good Sunday.
