We had a wonderful, unforgettable dinner here. Excellent service and the setting was stunning.
Amazing food and our server was very attentive. The service was quick and hassle free. The only disappointment is the view, as much of the falls is covered by trees so the view isn't truly appreciated.
Excellent food and service. A nice dining reprieve from the business of the valley crowds.
Glad to find this option easily ordered on the screens. Food was hot and edible.
The only reasonably edible menu items were not showing in the order kiosk when we entered, yet the items were visible behind the counter. Staff said that if it “doesn’t show up in the order kiosk the it’s not available”. Deciding between remaining items such as hot dog, 3 tenders, or plain pizza, we paid $8 for a half cup of warm water they called soup. As we were leaving, the missing menu items magically appeared back in the kiosk. Our expectations were respectfully low knowing that it’s a cafeteria at a national park, but they managed to deliver even lower.

You order your food from a kiosk and you’re given a number that they call when the food is ready.
The problem with this system is that 4 of the 6 kiosks were down and the ordering is slow. After 45 minutes in line, we finally ordered. 5 minutes later our food was ready.
The food is what you might expect at a water park or something. Fairly mid while being overpriced since it’s within Yosemite.
Starbucks is next door and you can quickly order from Starbucks if efficiently or value is your thing. Feels bad this is what is available in such a wonderful park.

Word of warning - if you get the chicken sandwich, cut it in half to make sure it is cooked before eating. One of our sandwiches was cold and raw inside. When I took it back, the server agreed and started to make a new sandwich. Immediately, an older woman (late 60s to mid-70s) rudely interrupted and asked to see the sandwich. I explained it was red inside and had an uncooked texture while I opened the sandwich to show her. She snapped "let me see it!" I handed her the sandwich and she pulled the meat apart to inspect it. She again snapped saying "it's raw". She then turned away, tossed the sandwich in the trash and walked away. She gave no apology for serving a potentially deadly sandwich. I felt sorry for the young female server who remade the sandwich. She looked defeated and demoralized.
The side salad was fine and was a decent size and reasonable price. Even with the remade sandwich, the food was barely warm enough to eat. The taste was okay, but nothing above average.
The total bill was $34 for two chicken sandwiches and a side salad with no beverages.

Pricing is high for meals, which is what you'd expect given the location, but there's a good amount of options to choose from like bowls, chicken, sandwiches, etc. Turkey and swiss cheese sandwich was good.

Really an eatery more than a restaurant. You place your order at one of the order kiosks, making the ordering process fast and smooth. Order pick-up later on is not that smooth, since you need to wait for your number to be shouted from behind the counter. People are gathering close by, making it pretty crowded at around the counters and it's also difficult for people working there to shout loud and for you to hear your number.
I appreciate vegetarian meals and options of something else than sandwiches, burgers and other fast food.
Cutlery and napkins are available at the cutlery stands that you need to find. The used dishes are dropped at certain place where they are collected to be cleaned and re-used. All of these places could be better marked, in my opinion.

I come to Yosemite almost every October. I camp at Housekeeping Camp and always treat myself to a dinner at the Mountain Room. Maybe if I was booked at the lodge, I'd expect the resort to have a restaurant as good as the Mountain Room. But as a camper who spends all day hiking, having dinner at the Mountain Room is like heaven on earth. I think it's one of Yosemite Valley's best kept secrets! This year, the hostess was sweet and adorable. My waiter was very nice too. But I was especially impressed by my salmon dish. From what I understand, you have a new menu, and in my opinion this dish is a keeper. I've never said this before to anyone ever, but “my compliments to the chef!” The fish was cooked to perfection. The micro greens were lovely and tasty. The green sauce was AMAZING. The rice was unusually delicious, and the al dente carrots were superb. I have three (minor) criticisms: 1. You should be able to figure out a way for a single diner to order bread t having to order enough bread for four people. 2. The French onion soup was fine, but not nearly as delicious as my server led me to believe. When I tucked into it, it squirted broth all over my table. This made a bit of a mess . When I pointed out the spray of broth all over my table, my server was duly amused but he really ought to have summoned someone to wipe it away. I felt like I was dining in the midst of a small mess for my entire meal. 3. There's nothing wrong with the pumpkin dessert roll, but it essentially tastes exactly like carrot cake, and it had way too much frosting and felt more like a breakfast pastry. It's tasty but too rich, and not a very sophisticated dessert. Above all, I love the Mountain Room!
I had to go back after a bad first meal as this is the restaurant where we were staying at in the park. It took 90 minutes for a steak and piece of trout to arrive. The waiter was excellent this time but the kitchen let him down as all his tables took forever. Our food arrived as we were walking out the door after waiting an hour and a half. The entrees were tasty and hot. The broccolini was barely heated and hard to cut with a steak knife. Aramark shouldn't run restaurants just vending machines.
Food took 1.5 hours to arrive. 3 steaks ordered 2 mid rare 1 medium, all came out mid well. Manager took 20% off the bill. $260 not worth it at all, Texas Roadhouse is better every time. Big disappointment worst and most expensive meal in Yosemite.
Our main courses took a long time to arrive. My lamb shank was luke warm and the vegetables were room temperature. I waved to the waiter and he waved back but didn't come to the table. After 5 plus minutes I asked the man busing to get the waiter and he said he would get the food warmed up. The same plate came back again with hot vegetables and slightly warmer lamb. I gave up at that point and just ate it. It was tasty, just luke warm. After that the waiter avoided our table until the check. I gave the waiter a 15% tip. My guess is my wife's order had to be custom cooked and the lamb just taken out of the oven. It probably was ready earlier than the fish dish and sat waiting and getting cold. The waiter probably was either slammed or figured to avoid the table since the tip might be poor. Either way it was a pricey mediocre meal.
