beautiful setting tables decor was simple and elegant service was prompt, polite and kind food was delicious (apps through dessert) noise, tad loud with piano yet delightful price, everything is pricey nowadays would we return-absolutely!! would we recommend-yes!!
The brunch buffet is nowhere near as impressive as it used to be. There are few options and even fewer vegetarian options. The pastries which used to be a highlight of the experience are now basically what you would get in a grocery store bakery. If you're staying in the hotel it is probably worth it but it is no longer worth driving up there for a special meal. Quite simply there isn't anything special about the food.
The great room at the dining hall is outstanding and the staff is outstanding. The tables have a crossbar right where your knees hit and so it was a little uncomfortable sitting at them. The food was very good but certainly overpriced. If you're in the park for a few days, it's great for a nice dinner.
I am an eggplant Parmesan aficionado . The Ahwhanee had the best I've ever had! I'm still daydreaming about it.
I read all of the reviews about how bad the food is so we decided to eat here for lunch and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The dining room is magnificent. It looks like the dining hall in the Harry Potter movies. The views from the huge windows are stunning. We had the salmon, burger, french dip sandwich, cauliflower appetizer and stuffed mushrooms. The salmon was good and the burger and french dip were decent. The cauliflower was actually very good, with dates, honey, and chili flakes. The mushrooms were bland. The service was ok. The waitstaff are nice enough but they make some mistakes and aren’t really professional. But it wasn’t bad enough to ruin the experience. I think that lunch is the way to go. It’s less expensive and you can enjoy the views outside. It was one of the highlights of our visit. If you’re not staying at the hotel plan to pay $10 for parking or take the shuttle from the welcome center. It’s a long walk from the village.

The atmosphere was so nice and mystical, might be a bit too dark for some. The food was good but considering the price I would have expected more, service was also good.

Great hotel and the architecture with its history is wonderful. Loved the hospitality at the restaurant. Ordered for Salmon. It was very tasty and juicy. Kids loved the Chicken tenders. Highly recommend this place if you’re in Yosemite area.

Our dinner which was to celebrate my husband's birthday was a big disappointment. Our server never made eye contact with either of us the entire meal. Her support server was wonderful and balanced out a mediocre experience. The food was passable- deviled eggs, potatoes confit and endive salad were good. My main course, butternut squash risotto was undercooked and had burnt onion pieces which made the entire dish taste bitter. My husband's gander steak meal was good. Even though I indicated on Open Table we were celebrating a birthday, then told the server once we were seated, she forget to have his dessert prepared with a candle and raced out at the end of our meal with a vanilla cupcake and sang the birthday song- SO disappointing!!!
Made reservations with concierge and requested window table. Our party of two was seated at round 4 top next to kitchen. We again requested window table and were told they were not available. They stayed empty the rest of the evening. Waiter never greeted us or introduced himself. He walked up behind us and interrupted our conversation to tell us soup of the day and then walked off. No conversation or recommendations. Food took excessively long to arrive. Waiter never checked back to give updates. Flat iron steak was very tough and flavorless. Vegetables were undercooked. We were looking forward to nice experience and were very disappointed. We ended up cancelling our remaining reservations.

Rustic lodge built in the 1920's and surrounding area is a great place to eat and enjoy the beauty of Yosemite National Park.
The Ahwahnee kitchen is back and the food wonderful! The service is great, but at dinner, perhaps too great...a little delay between courses would be better, so order one at a time. So great to see this grand hotel back in action. Hats off to the wonderful servers and kitchen staff.
Very overpriced for lunch. Ordered a burger medium well and it was almost raw for $22.50. The short ribs were very good though. It was about 100 degrees in the hotel and restaurant and they sat us near a window with sun beating on us. It was a bad experience for such a beautiful place. We liked the sandwiches we got in the village instead.
This was another wonderful meal in the fantastic Ahwahnee dining room. We always eat breakfast and dinner in this fantastic place each time we stay at the hotel. Great table service, great food and a wonderful atmosphere.
Apparently they close dining to hotel guests only for breakfast, even though it doesn't say that's a possibility on the website. So we showed up for breakfast, during a weekday in the off season and were told to go to the coffee bar.
