Amazing fried chicken... juicy and crispy. I can finally say that I have been to The French Laundry fried chicken restaurant. I am no longer a basic KFC girl. I would highly recommend to try their fried chicken if you are visiting the wine valley. They have dine in and patio area for outdoor dinning. They do follow the covid protocols very well, all employees are masked and space was spread out in between tables. If I am in the area again, I will definitely get their boujee bucket of fried chicken to-go again!

My biggest criticism is that they should be using warm plates. The food gets cold very quickly with the cold plates. It's almost an unacceptable mistake for a restaurant at this price point. A more minor criticism is the acoustics were loud. Definitely not the worst, but not great for people who are sensitive to a loud crowd. I would have prefered to give this feedback in person, but there wasn't a great opportunity to tell the staff becaause they didnt ask about our experience after we got the salad where one would expect a room temp plate, and to be fair it was very busy, so it wasnt conducive didnt to go out of my way to let them know.
All that said, if you like large quatities of very rich, french home cook inspired classic dishes that are executed very well, you'll probably like this place. If you are looking for something more unusual, unique, or lighter, you probably will be a little disappointed.

Come hungry because you're going to get a lot of delicious food served by friendly staff! Been here twice and both the steak and mashed potatoes as well as the pork chops with polenta were perfect! Sides change so this time there was squash soup which was rich and delicious! Last time it was a garden salad and I could have eaten the whole plate! Food is served family style, so you'll have plenty. Fried chicken is an add on and worth it, but it does really put the amount of food over the top. The dessert rotates as well and this time was a tasty carmel cheesecake.

Very cold. Food was good but I was miserably cold with AC on full blast (was only 62 degrees oitside).

I ate here 10+ years ago (remembered it fondly) and went back recently, and look, I really wanted to love it, but it’s frankly generic, and rather overpriced for the results which are tasty but uninspired. This is not a destination for people serious about food, it’s an outpost for people who want to have a fancy date-night, or Bday party but don’t want to pay the big $ down the street. Maybe we were unlucky, but it was super loud, full of gawking tourists, and also strangely cold. The vibe is stuck in the 90s (so if you’re still listening to Pearl Jam, this could be your spot). I’m grateful that TK is making something available to the plebs, but the food is far better in SF and Oakland.

As the menu varies daily, hard to say much other than the food we got was outstanding. They did have the fried chicken (a chef specialty and only sometimes available), and it was fantastic. All the courses were outstanding.

2nd time visiting Ad Hoc and everything was excellent. The menu of the day was the fried chicken and we also added on the shrimp and grits and onion dip. Nothing missed the mark. Since we were there for brunch, we also ordered bloody Mary’s — epic.
Pricing is reasonable and servings are generous. You will leave stuffed.

The food is not great. I don't like the taste. They offer a large portion though. Very large.

Crunchiest fried chicken ever eaten. The cola braised short ribs were tender and delicious.
