✅ The gold pudding dessert was delightful and delicate.
🆗 Chocolate and almond croissant – While nothing quite compares to the one at Arsicault in SF, this one had a nice, crispy texture.
🆗 Chocolate bouchon – I couldn't quite grasp the texture or flavor. It wasn’t a brownie or a cake, but it also wasn’t particularly memorable.
👎 TKO – This was an unusual item, and I guess it just wasn’t suited to my palate.
I will not go back. Why?
Croissant was ok-good, almond croissant was twice baked which means it's really too dry. I don't want a "biscotti", I want a moist almond croissant. The coffee was ok-good.
It's too expensive for what it is.
There are better French bakeries in the
bay area for less money.

We recommend their macarons and bouchon (cork-shaped brownies) but their bread - campagne boule and cranberry currant batard - are just average and not repeat buys.

The croissant is fine.
But honestly ... and can't believe I'm going to say this ... but Trader Joe's almond knot is better ... lighter, fluffier, more almond flavor.
$30 for 2 coffees and 2 croissant including tax and tip.
Not really worth it, but a fun visit to Yountville nonetheless.
Staff was excellent.

Late Dec2024 Right next to the Bouchon Bistro is their bakery outlet where you can purchase their famed breads and other creations. Not necessarily "bouchon" type of confections as they generally offer traditonal and trendy collections of baked fare.
Of note is the classic croissant and its variations and their macarons.
It is important to note that there is a regular impatient queue outside this one outlet which makes one's visit a bit pressured and thus makes the counter service hurried as well. There are no dine in options. So best prepare to know your order before hand.
Another hopeful improvement is they have a separate counter for online order pickups to lessen the queue.
The food though was of impeccable quality despite the hurried displays.

Considering this is a French chef's bakery, I expected some more chocolate stuff (pastries, maybe?), but while there are tons of croissants and macaroons, there is surprisingly no confectionary. Sad. We tried the pistachio éclair which was delicious and the mocha which was great, but not exceptionally different from what you could get anywhere. Long lines outside so took us 15min to get in, 2 min to order and another 5min to collect. You can't eat inside, just use the benches outside of the weather permits. Luckily we had a sunny afternoon on Dec 30th. All in all, I'm not sure what the hype is about, just folks following the sheep, I guess. If you give it a pass, you wouldn't have missed anything. Not in Napa, not in Yountville, not in any big city.
Parking: Find a spot nearby and walk.

There are many great bakeries in the San Francisco Bay Area, but bouchon still is maintaining their quality after all these years. My favorite pastries were the pistachio macron and the almond croissant. We also got the eclair but it was filled with chocolate and it was too sweet in my opinion. Definitely check it out if you're in the area.

Lovely service. We had the kouign-amann, they were undercooked in the center and consequently heavy as hockey pucks. They should be light and flaky throughout with a slight crunch in the carmelized base. Perhaps longer proofing would help?

Nice little bakery, I went in because I was hungry but was a little disappointed as the didn't have any Pain-aux-rasin the almond croissant was good but I still prefer the ones my neighborhood bakery makes. Coffee was decent.
