About La Calenda
La Calenda Reviews
Was just there for Mothers Day, have loved this restaurant since it opened. Nine of us. Smaller portions, overpriced. Food was nothing exceptional, mediocre at best. Wont go back for awhile
Great meal as always, fish taco is probably the best I've ever had! Highly recommend
Nice food, great presentations, but quite a disappointment. My expectations from a Thomas Keller restaurant that I'll be in complete awe with every bite, and frankly - food was great but nothing I can't find in a standard Mexican food restaurant that's priced a quarter from this restaurant
Menu
La Calenda is a standout restaurant that exceeds expectations. The menu features fresh, high-quality ingredients, with dishes like fish tacos, elote, and rice and beans standing out. The restaurant’s attention to detail is exceptional, with surprises like beet salad and pineapple quesadilla bits. Live music adds to the lively atmosphere. The patio area is lively, spacious, and decorated with beautiful marigolds, creating a fun and cute setting. Inside, the seating can get a bit loud and crowded depending on where guests sit. The service is very friendly and attentive, with staff quick to greet and check on diners. The chips are thick and warm, tasting very fresh, and the guacamole and salsa are delicious. The quesadilla de hongos is a favorite, with meaty mushrooms and a flavorful habanero salsa that offers a nice spice. Main dishes like the pollo al carbon and enfrijoladas de camote are very comforting, filling, and full of flavor. Prices are reasonable considering the size and quality of the food. Overall, La Calenda provides a lively, fun experience with top-notch service and tasty, fresh dishes that make it worth returning.
