8 Star K Restaurant
Yucca Valley, California
We do not often come across Korean restaurants when traveling through small towns, but we found just that in Yucca Valley, California. We are used to enjoying Korean cuisine in San Diego and other large cities, yet this small restaurant serves food that is genuinely delicious. The kimchi is especially flavorful, and I was told it is made by the owner. This was actually our second visit, and our first experience was exceptional.
Their dishes could easily rival some of the best Korean restaurants in San Diego, and we have an entire street of Korean dining establishments back home. The banchan is fresh and well-prepared. For an appetizer, we ordered the pan‑fried dumplings, or mandu, which were cooked nicely. This time, I ordered the pork cutlet, served with rice, cabbage salad, and banchan. The pork was a bit thin, but still tender and seasoned well. We also ordered the vegetable yakisoba, which came with three sides. The noodles were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right.
They offer many popular Korean dishes, including Galbi (short rib BBQ), Spicy Pork Bulgogi, Tteokbokki, Japchae, Ramyeon, Bibimbap, several soups, and of course, Korean fried chicken. Unfortunately, they were unable to make the kimchi pancake during this visit, but hopefully next time.
Overall, the food is delicious and the service is consistently good. We truly enjoy dining here, especially since we love Korean cuisine, and we will definitely return whenever we are back in the area.

Had soft tofu soup. This is by far the softest tofu soup I ever had. Not only that but the soup is very flavorful.

I went here last night with my little family for dinner. Excellent customer service, food was Delicious, the environment was very clean with beautiful plants in every corner filling the space with positive energy . Menu was big and easy to read with so many great choices! The man who took our order and served our food was very polite, and efficient. He had a FULL house and still managed to get everything out on a timely fashion, making sure our water was filled and we had everything we needed! I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!

Buy some homemade kimchi and note the table soy sauce (interestingly sweet).
The exterior of the building is a little odd looking so I wasn't expecting to be super impressed. However, what a gem this is!!! Food and service was great and the inside was so cute. We got kimchi fried rice (with kimchi sampler) and spicy pork and rice which was phenomenal.
Waitress was so nice and talkative.

The food is worse than meal kits. The most terrible thing is that they overwork the waiter - only one waiter for cleaning the table, bringing the food, taking orders at the cashier, and also helping out in the kitchen! The waiter has to rum everywhere while guests are waiting for > 30 minutes as the tables are not cleaned and food is not being served. It looks like a poorly played restaurant management game, but with real people

Visited here first time and everything we ordered are delicious, especially the fried chicken wings so tender and crispy. The lady working there was very friendly as well. Food came out promptly. If you’re in town and love Korean food don’t miss out this gem.

My husband and I initially tried this place because it had decent reviews for the great food and portion sizes and because there were some items in the menu that we’ve always wanted to experience but never had.
When we ordered, several of the things on their menu were no longer available, as in they don’t offer them anymore, one being the Kimbap. They also did not offer the fresh fish shaped treats. They had the setup for it (the press), but said they weren’t making them at that time?
We ordered the fried shrimp, fried chicken wings and the BBQ beef bulgogi plate. The fried chicken and shrimp were delicious, and so was the bbq beef, however when we received our bbq beef bulgogi plate ($35ish) I was a bit disappointed with the portion size. I got it to share with my husband but it could have easily just fed me. Luckily we had ordered the chicken wings and fried shrimp so we were satisfied.
I would probably eat here again if just for the shrimp and chicken wings.

The food here is amazing. They serve the typical standards, but the two people running the kitchen have something special going on with their culinary ability. Don't miss this place! It's an order at the counter small restaurant in a strip mall. Cute decor, friendly people. We had the tteok bokki and seafood soft tofu soup. Ginger honey tea was a treat.
