Visited here first time and everything we ordered are delicious, especially the fried chicken wings so tender and crispy. The lady working there was very friendly as well. Food came out promptly. If you’re in town and love Korean food don’t miss out this gem.

My husband and I initially tried this place because it had decent reviews for the great food and portion sizes and because there were some items in the menu that we’ve always wanted to experience but never had.

When we ordered, several of the things on their menu were no longer available, as in they don’t offer them anymore, one being the Kimbap. They also did not offer the fresh fish shaped treats. They had the setup for it (the press), but said they weren’t making them at that time?

We ordered the fried shrimp, fried chicken wings and the BBQ beef bulgogi plate. The fried chicken and shrimp were delicious, and so was the bbq beef, however when we received our bbq beef bulgogi plate ($35ish) I was a bit disappointed with the portion size. I got it to share with my husband but it could have easily just fed me. Luckily we had ordered the chicken wings and fried shrimp so we were satisfied.

I would probably eat here again if just for the shrimp and chicken wings.

The food here is amazing. They serve the typical standards, but the two people running the kitchen have something special going on with their culinary ability. Don't miss this place! It's an order at the counter small restaurant in a strip mall. Cute decor, friendly people. We had the tteok bokki and seafood soft tofu soup. Ginger honey tea was a treat.

This restaurant hit the spot! I was craving some asian food and I was surprised to find Korean in this small town. This out-of-towner Korean was satisfied! Galbi (BBQ beef ribs) came out on a sizzling plate with some traditional side dishes (kimchi, spicy bean sprouts, and sweet daikon). We also ordered the Chap Chae (glass noodles). The fried chicken came out piping hot and juicy. All in all, food was great and the owners/ chef were personable. Definitely coming back tomorrow for more.
They should’ve named it “10 Star K Restaurant” instead!

Exceptional staff, REAL Korean cuisine (lived in HCBC, ROK for 2 years, it's the real deal) and decent prices for the location. Will definitely enjoy another meal here again! The Hot Bibimbap & Fried Mandu way perfect.

Like eating at a low end coffee shop, so not much ambiance. The food was nice, though a little pricy.

They make the food right with Korean tastes and ingredients. The reason I give three stars is that the tofu soup is not made in a hot stone pot and the portion is small compared to the price. The bibimbap is fresh and nice, but again, small portion. The side dish is tiny and not very desirable.

Had crave for Asian food in Joshua Tree area and this Korean resto did the job! We ordered Korean fried chicken and tho it looked a bit uncommon than all the other Korean fried chicken we had, it was super crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned.

I am so happy we missed a turn while looking for our original lunch destination and spotted 8 Star. The food was excellent, and they even had takeaway jars of pickle salads for sale other than just kimchi (spicy radish salad has always been my favorite, but their seaweed salad was good enough to be a close contender). If you enjoy or are curious about Korean food, absolutely try 8 Star.

When we visited, quite a few menu items weren’t available, which was a bit disappointing. I asked about the KBBQ chicken wings, and the cashier checked with (I assume) the owner. I overheard the response of “right now?” in a tone that felt inconvenienced, followed by “tell them it’ll be 30 minutes,” which came across more like discouragement than an option. That put me off, so I just asked what was available and ordered from there.

Overall, the food itself was enjoyable, but the limited menu options and the way the situation was handled left me with a mixed impression. It was nice to try, but with the high food prices and the service experience, I’m not sure I’d go back.
