Really good food with a fair price for the Aspen area. I ordered the ribeye steak sandwich, and it was a good portion, right flavors, and honestly more than the sandwich can handle.
The fries are good too, and the staff is helpful.

I had went into this restaurant to try some BBQ as I was craving some after working an event in town earlier that day and was absolutely hungry. Well ended up ordering more food than I could handle and didn't consider that I was 7500ft above sea level. But wanted to try the sandwich, their spare ribs and the Mac and cheese. All of which what I ordered. Unfortunately the ribs were okay, but definitely very thin, though could be due to them being an hour and a half before closing. The Mac and cheese I ordered was good though should have had more sausage in it. But with that said, I truly didn't eat much of it till the morning after as I was exhausted. But the reason why I put such a low score is because I had a 3 year old black bear walk in front of me as I was on the sidewalk headed back to my hotel room. If a black bear isn't willing to maul me for some fresh and hot BBQ, than honestly the accolades that this restaurant has received need looking in to. Although the customer service was phenomenal, I was just over stimulated.

As luck would have it, we stumbled across this amazing restaurant, in Aspen. This @hickoryhousebbq is the real deal. It was featured on that @guyfieri @diners_driveins_dives show! The ribs were amazing and we ended up buying some extra jugs of their barbecue sauce to take home!!
The service was friendly and professional. Although we came in at 8:00 PM we were amazed at how many people, a lot of large families, came in after us. Obviously, this is a great place for locals.

Arrived about 15 minutes before lunch was being served, hostess was rude when we said we wanted lunch. 20 minutes later we placed our order, steak and eggs for both of us. After another 35-40 minutes our waiter asked what we were waiting for, ran to the kitchen. When he came back out he went about taking care of other customers, needless to say we walked out, no apologies from anyone, just acted like we were invisible.

Aspen Colorado's Hickory House is hands down the best barbecue restaurant in the state of Colorado I think because of the signature sauces and the food, not because of the great chill atmosphere and the beautiful mountain views which it boasts.
