J-Bar in Aspen is a must-visit for anyone who loves a mix of history and great food. This iconic bar, once a favorite hangout of Hunter S. Thompson, retains its old-school charm while serving up one of the best burgers in town. The atmosphere is lively yet nostalgic, making it the perfect spot to soak in Aspen’s rich history with a perfectly crafted drink and a delicious, juicy burger. A true gem!

Ashkay makes this visit memorable. I come in every chance I get for the J-Burger (literally the best ever)

He and Derek both are super awesome everyone we came in. Ashkay even remembered me!

A J bar burger is a must have everytime I’m in town.

Also s/o to Tori in Hotel Jerome. She was super sweet too.

I try not to leave negative reviews unless absolutely justified. My wife and I ordered an appetizer, a salad, a hamburger, a ribeye, 3 drinks, and a half-bottle of wine. We spent $345 after the mandatory 22% gratuity. I have no problem spending money on a good experience. Unfortunately, this experience was quite the opposite. The service/server was great. The food just is not. The sticky rib appetizer was so tough you could hardly get the meat off the bone. I ordered my ribeye medium rare. It came out well done. The second ribeye was medium at best and had zero seasoning. I saw other orders sent back to the kitchen while seated. We dined at Monarch the previous night and it was fantastic. J-Bar is riding and charging for a name recognition that isn’t supported by the product.

Amazing atmosphere and service. We stopped in for a beer and a snack and enjoyed our conversation with the bartender Derek (?) so very much. He was engaging and knowledgeable about the food, spirits and area. Definitely will be back for more Hugo Spritz and food!

Excellent place to let loose and meet interesting people. Service is top notch as well. In my top three places for grabbing drinks in the state of Colorado.

We stopped in for cocktails on the patio. Absolutely lovely. The service was excellent. Our Serbian server was so much fun to talk with.

The burger is delicious, we ended up getting it without the bun and added avocado!!! Our server was fantastic and super accommodating. Highly recommend. The bar seating is open seating and the patio you will need to request at the host stand.

This is a beautiful old style little bar with amazing service and even better food and drinks. We stopped in on a hot afternoon in the summer and had a fantastic waiter who made perfect recommendations for some afternoon cocktails and served us an incredible blue corn bread skillet with popcorned butter. It's pricey, but definitely worth the indulgence. We will probably return for desserts later on!
