A locals recommendation well worth a stop. Six different options to choose from including sweet and savory options. I had the ham and cheese with bacon. Light flaky baked crust and a healthy portion of filling make this a quick grab n go that's very filling. I had the chimichurri sauce for an extra $1. Do it!!! It's a flavor explosion that really compliments the overall taste. I'd try another option in a repeat. Cash. Card. Mobile pay all accepted Service was quick and friendly. No waits. The stand is located in the walking mall near the park and all the high-end shopping you could want.

I got the beef empanada and it was very tasty. Definitely not worth $7 (used to be $6.50) for the size (if anything should be $5 a piece). Easy to find, person in the booth didn't seem to care to be there which I get, it's work but something more than a stone face would be nice.

Just like most of the food in Aspen, the empanadas are overpriced and mediocre, at best. The shell was overly soft and limp, as it probably absorbed too much moisture from the filling after being left under a heat lamp for what I assume must have been hours. The filling itself was rather bland as well, but I suppose whole thing warrants a second star just because it was edible. The reason I’m even bothering to write a review is more on the service. I was the only customer present at the time and I was patient enough to let the employee finish his 3 to 5 minute task, even after he acknowledged my presence and without making any comment on the wait. I did not leave a tip for what is supposed to be a 30-second to-go order interaction and I was called out on it by the employee. I’m not sure what qualifies as the excellent service he provided that warranted the tip, in his mind, but if excellence is defined as putting a broken empanada into a brown bag over a five-second period, then I guess I’m in the wrong.

A great spot for a quick, warm bite! Pro tip: absolutely get the chimichurri on the side! It takes your empanada to the next level with flavor. The bacon, ham, and cheese was pretty tasty. They offer savory and sweet options.

Wow! I'm so glad I found this place while visiting Aspen. Funny enough, we were on a LONG waiting list for another nearby restaurant and decided to take a walk around Main St. to kill some time. Situated right next to the Aspen Emporium we noticed a sign that said "We're Open! Empanadas" and we were so hungry we decided to check it out and see if we could snag a quick snack while we were waiting to get the call that our table was ready. It's situated down a beautiful flower-lined walkway and its small hut setup is designed for take-away, but there's also a few tables and chairs in the space right in front. We decided to grab a beef empanada and eat it on the bench out front. It was so good we made the brilliant decision to cancel our lunch reservation and get a few more to take to the park nearby for a little picnic lunch. The ham & cheese was my favorite, but everything we tried was super tasty. It was like fate brought us there because we saved a ton of money not dining out at another pricy establishment and our bellies were full with delicious-tasting empanadas. They're pretty loaded so for $7 you get your (Aspen) money's worth and they're served piping hot. The dough was super flavorful - flaky and crispy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. We didn't get a chance to try the fresh chimichurri, but this is a place I would happily return to. They have another location in Basalt that I learned opened in March 2019 and this location opened in December 2022. They also sell frozen empanadas by the bunch to take home. Great stroke of luck finding this hidden gem

I'm not one to leave reviews most of the time, but this place was as delicious as all the other reviews say. It's $7 each and completely worth it!

Delicious! We got some for lunch, and when we finished, we decided to buy 10 more frozen empanadas because they were so good! If you are in Aspen, you have to try this!

Awesome empanada. Very fresh. Cheesy corn is my favorite. Chicken is good too especially if u eat with their chimichurri sauce. It’s 6.5$ each and it’s a pretty big size.

I tried one of these empanadas recently and just had to write a review! These empanadas are wonderful. White shack right across from the Wheeler Opera House (diagonal). Try it you won’t be disappointed. Delicious handcrafted food at a real price! Wow!

The attention was excellent. The meat empanada is exquisite and if you eat it with the home made chimichurri, it will taste on another level.

I live right next door. I finally stopped in for the first time while walking the baby. He and I shared a couple empanadas in the park with their homemade chimichuri. Oh. My. Goodness. Amazing flavors! Great prices. We will be back again and again!
