This honest review no fake reviews. Don’t not order “Egusi”dish from this restaurant. It’s horrible. Smells burn, textures are horrible no taste. This is my honest review on the food. They have Great service and atmosphere. Overall, wasn’t a good experience.

Custom service was great and very attentive. I ordered the whole red snapper fried and it was on point, but the gombo was cold, not flavorful. This is the reason for my score on the food.

We went here because the other spot that was recommended was closed. Have to say it was a total let down. Customer service was subpar, no one came to check on our table, the food was bland. I’ve never had a flavorless egusi until today. I also asked for pepper sauce and whatever he gave me was not that at all. We told them as feedback about the food, but they didn’t seem concerned about the feedback at all. But egusi should not be the texture it was. Please back to the drawing board.
Update: Two people in my party got food poisoning. Also the response from the owner is a blatant lie. Don’t know who Murt is, I don’t do anything marketing related, and you can see that several reviews say the same thing about their egusi. If food isn’t good, I’m going to leave feedback, especially if it’s getting people sick.

I’ve enjoyed African food from Colorado to Georgia and beyond, so I decided to give this restaurant a try. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. Our waiter was inattentive, never checking if we needed more water or anything else throughout the meal.

I ordered the egusi with chicken, but the dish seemed far from fresh. The chicken was dry, overcooked, and possibly left out for too long. When we raised the issue with the waiter, he simply glanced at the plate and took no action, rushing instead to bring the check.

To make matters worse, I later had to visit the doctor, where I was diagnosed with food poisoning. Needless to say, I won’t be returning.

It is evident that the establishment has no intention of taking accountability for their poor service and food quality. We packed the food to go but ultimately discarded it shortly after. The waiter noticeably looked at our table and chose to walk away without addressing us. There is no need to fabricate a review, as numerous others have reported similar concerns.

I am very familiar with these dishes, having enjoyed them at the Lakewood location and various other locations across southern states. In this case, however, no one in our group was able to finish their plate.

Worst egusi I have ever had. No taste, I completely regretted ordering from here. If you don’t know how to prepare egusi please don’t. This was very horrible. Had to trash the food. Will not be ordering Nigerian dish from here.

I ordered lamb egusi to go, and it literally tasted and smelled like wet dog food. I've never had egusi before but the way everyone raved about it online was either way overhyped or this place just wasn't it. Not saying the other food they had to offer isn't better (I don't know since I didn't try) but dang what I got was so bad.

I ordered food to go and the food was really good. The jollof rice was cooked perfectly and the grill chicken was very flavorful, but not as tender as I would like, plantains were sweet and perfectly ripe and not greasy. The only complaint is that I waited a little over 30 minutes after ordering in person. I guess because there was only one person taking orders and serving customers sitting on the table. This person was also handling pick up orders as well. They just need more staff.

We were the only two customers in the restaurant when it first opened at 11. We had to call over the server to ask if we could order, then it took over 20 minutes to receive our two waters and an hour to get two entrees. They were out of the first dish I tried ordering. I tried something new which I didn’t care for, but my friend enjoyed his food. This restaurant doesn’t have many vegetarian dishes. We definitely won’t be back.
