My girlfriend and I are a biracial couple. I am White and she is Mexican and we were stopped “randomly” to get put under a microscope before the Hispanic gentleman at the exit could let us leave. We were helped by an Asian lady at self checkout that helped us scan everything. As soon as we got to the self checkout, she had an attitude. Asked me for my membership card when I told her numerous times that I only have a digital copy so then she took it upon herself to scan everything for us. Once she was done, we headed to the exit where the Hispanic gentleman stopped us and started counting every single item and double checking the receipt. While we were waiting to leave, I saw that he and the Philippine lady were just casually looking at people’s carts and not double checking the receipt like they did with us. We had to wait close to 20 minutes for the gentleman to finish checking everything in our cart multiple times. I feel like we were profiled because we are a biracial couple. I have never been treated like that at Costco and I don’t feel like getting treated like that again.

Costco's Food Court no longer takes the same extraordinary pride they used to take in feeding huge families and bored, shoppers like me, who want to reward themselves for shopping for enormous quantities of Kirkland-brand foods with a huge Costco Food Court doughy combo pizza, enormous kosher-style hot Polish sausage, or "low" calorie berry smoothie (why "Kirkland," Costco? Why? Nobody is buying it. Just name them Costco brand potato chips or Costco-brand Albacore tuna, already, "Kirkland" marketing gurus). So what am I complaining about? The Polish sausage is gone. The better-tasting Hebrew National hot dog is gone. The chopped onions for the hot dog are long gone. And the hot dogs aren't even hot anymore. But you can still get the disgusting, heart-attack-inducing, calorie-bomb that is called a chicken bake! Yuck! Oh, and there used to be combo pizzas with some veggies on them. Now, your choice is pepperoni or cheese. Sorry customers. Costco uses things to get you in, like cheap, lousy, huge pizzas. They aren't a pizzeria! So, stop your whining, fella! Costco still has pies big enough to feed a family of thirty. And that Food Court Was never the Sbarros or Orange Julius of your suburban dreams!
