“This macabre meeting place is a nod to horror films of every ilk. Dungeonous decor includes skull artifices and all manners of dark memorabilia. The poutine, chosen in homage to bygone Canadian allies, was pretty, pretty good. I love that the menu’s meat-centric choices are badged with a bloody butcher knife, translated by the legend as “Something was Murdered,” to at least perhaps peck at the shell of consumer cognitive dissonance. Next time I plan on murdering that bahn mi.“

“The Squire is such a cool dive bar — exactly what you hope for in a neighborhood spot. It’s laid-back, unpretentious, and has that perfect dive bar vibe without trying too hard. The drinks are cheap, the bartenders are friendly, and the atmosphere makes it easy to relax and have a good time.

“We were chilling for the first time in the Mile High City, thinking we were heading to the Lion’s Lair comedy club, and somehow Google maps ended up taking us to the Denver Zoo Lion's Lair first—my buddy and I looked at each other like, “We're freeing the lions or what?” Luckily, the real spot was just four minutes away.
