I ordered fish and chips to go. I was very disappointed with the order. The French fries were hard and over fried. The tartar sauce and Cole slaw was also bland. Was told the manager would give me a call. Never heard from the manager. Paid $18.35 for a disapointing meal. :-(

We went there for the first time ever.It looked interesting. Inside looked nice.We wanted to sit outside in the patio area.Apparently they allow smoking on their outdoor patio. I thought the state law stated that you couldn’t smoke within 25 feet of a door. Anyway it reeked of cigarette smoke from all the smokers, plus every ashtray seem to be loaded with 10 cigarettes or more. I don’t think they ever emptied them.

Every time I visit this place I meet great people and enjoy myself. The employees are always welcoming and carry on great conversations that makes the night even better. Selections of beverages are great and not your typical list of domestics, but supporting local breweries which I appreciate. I intend on continuing coming here when I get the opportunity.

Went with family for the 1st time today. There was 1 waitress who was also the bartender. She had 4 tables including us and maybe 5 patrons at the bar. She was friendly but not urgent. We had no napkins, silverware, or plates with our appetizers. My sister had to go retrieve them for us. I ordered a medium rare burger and got medium well. My sister was missing her lettuce, tomato, & onion from her burger. Fries were great but everything else was mediocre. Onion rings were soggy. Drinks were however decent. I hate to give bad reviews but honesty is necessary. The manager (assuming) was sitting at a table across from us and our hint was when he got up he asked how everything was. It's disappointing that he couldn't lend a hand and be an example of providing great service

A family favorite. We are there every Saturday night playing trivia and getting food and drinks. The food never disappoints (I love the Philly Cheesesteak and the burgers) and the service is always phenomenal. The staff is fantastic and always treat our family great. We highly recommend!

Place was pretty much empty besides a couple patrons at the bar. Waitress had no sense of urgency. We got our appetizers with no napkins or silverware and by the time we did we had finished the appetizers. Food took long. My onion rings were soggy. Poor portion size on the onion rings. Don't think we'll be back.

I'm almost afraid to add a review for this little Irish Pup...I don't want this place to get over run and loose any of the quality of the food. The Waitress was very nice and fun too.I went just to try the fish & Chips...It took forever to get your food. But, it was well worth the wait. They obviously make them fresh "This was confirmed by the Waitress". They were awesome!!! You get a lot but you can't stop eating it's sooo good "I ate all three pieces". I was stuffed so I was not able to try any of the desserts. I'll have to go back to try that and have more Fish & Chips "Yum"I would for sure recommend them for the Fish & chips.They would get 5 stars if they would asks the smokers to go away from the front doors. Every time the door opens you get blasted with cigarette smoke "yuck"

We went here for lunch and it was a great experience. Jackie was our waitress who was very sweet and accommodating. She was able to put on the channel we wanted by our table. Besides the great service, the food was amazing. Xander and Mikey in the kitchen were able to be flexible with the menu options and provide some delicious food. Everyone was awesome and we will definitely be coming back here again.

Don't go there when they are busy if you want good food. They seem mostly focused on the drinkers. We had 4 people at the table. The server didn't write down our order. The food took forever and our meals did not match what we ordered (fries vs onion rings, doneness of burgers, etc). One person didnt even get the entree they ordered. They took it anyway because we waited so long. Disappointing.
Amber is an amazing bartender.Great beers on tap. I love to experiment and mix.So far, dry dock apricot and a raspberry or pineapple is superb.Bar poker is lots of fun!

Really good food and awesome dive bar atmosphere. Hilltop pub burger is smokey and charred just right. The deep fried mushrooms were perfect: crispy outside, tender inside, and they have the good ranch. Great spot.

My husband and I have been going to the Royal Hilltop for about 15 years. We usually go there about 3 or 4 times a year and have never been disappointed. Now we went this past Saturday and had the best experience yet. The food quality has improved but like I said ~ we've never walked away disappointed in the past. The service was excellent, and our servers name was Megan. When we expressed how satisfied we were with our experience, she brought the General Manager over to our table for a chat. I just love personalized service & that's what we got. Restaurant prices have gone up everywhere, so not much to do about that. At least our dinner was well worth the increase in the prices.

The place can be hit or miss in my experience(both in the food quality and service), but wrote this just to say the lady working at 2pm on Thursday 4/13 was the BEST service I’ve ever had here. Despite being incredibly busy she was so polite! Not always a guarantee here… but the bar is usually packed with cranky old men giving the bartenders a hard time so I totally get it when they are exasperated. She was amazing though!

I used to love this place but can't come anymore. The last few months every time I go in it smells like sewage. The food isn't as good and they don't have everything on the menu usually. Mixed drinks have a strange taste to them. Not sure if its the ice or what. But my last cocktail made me sick. I hope they can turn this around because it was my go to neighborhood bar. The bartenders/staff are friendly and great though.
