We ordered dinner here to pick up at the snowflake pick up and after a 35 minute wait, we found out one of our pizzas was still frozen at $15 for a personal pizza it should be done correctly.!!! Then went I brought it back they were closed. I am shocked how bad the food service is here! Spending atleast $100 per meal here at the Gaylord and not once has a meal not had a problem!

The Phoenix - Rising again

We are new to the area and looking for a fun new coffee shop, this sounded promising. Unfortunately it was just a small Starbucks kiosk with a cute name. Not worth the price for bitter coffee and the drive.

Shawn is the absolute best- a true ray of sunshine. Friendly and kind, the world would be a better place if more people were as kind and helpful in their job as she is.

Beautiful property, many different pro's and con's. Hotel Room - Clean, nice, comfortable. About what you would expect for a hotel in the mid-upper range. I don't think most people come for the hotel rooms, but they are in good shape - Walls are a little thin. Resort - Huge property (make sure to wear comfortable shoes). We were there during Christmas season so the hotel was decorated for that. Incredibly beautiful grand lobby with Christmas tree and other areas decorated. The activities were great for children (ice tubing, snowballs, skating, etc.) Make sure to have a plan as many of these were timed events and still had long lines. The ICE exhibit was incredible and well worth the money. Another perk is the random drink stations throughout. There are many themed bars with drinks (alcoholic and non) throughout the resort to ease the pain of walking miles and miles. Cons - Mountain Pass Sports Bar - Think of a Buffalo Wild Wings with higher prices and worse service. Also only one restaurant accepts reservations which gets dicey on weekends. We were told 3+ hours at two other restaurants before going to mountain pass. Parking & unloading. Nightmare. With 1500 rooms it is difficult to park close enough to unload your own luggage and only the bell hops can use the luggage carts. No big deal except it took nearly 2 hours for our luggage to be delivered. All in all its a nice spot. Have a plan and expect to get nickel and dimed for extras while inside.

We went to the ICE exhibit and took over an hour to exit the parking lot.. One gate exit is all that they had to exit hundreds of auto's trying to get home. if not a fire hazard a classic example of how the Gaylord is ripping people off for parking out there at DIA . Never again will I let you rip me off and pay inflated parking prices and make me wait in line an hour while you do it . This hotel is a disgrace to the hard working citizens / taxpayers who funded it over the last decade.

I could never put into words the all around amazing experience we had at this hotel. The staff is PHENOMENAL, especially John at customer service. I and my 3 children were stranded in airports for 4 straight days with no end in sight. Denver was not our intended destination, nor did we know the Gaylord Rockies hotel even existed before the airline offered us a voucher for the hotel. We showed up on Christmas Eve, begging the staff to help me save Christmas for my children. John, the front desk staff, and the ticketing staff didn’t even hesitate to do everything they could to give us the best experience possible. They were kind, compassionate, and helpful even though they were working on Christmas. Their spirits are the definition of Christmas. THANK YOU Gaylord Rockies.

The absolute best experience! After receiving terrible customer service during my recent stay at the Gaylord in Kissimmee Florida it felt good to get back to what the Marriott /Gaylord brand is really about. From checking in with Scarlett at the Elite desk. Which was amazing. She hit all the right points of recognizing a Titanium member to explaining the benefits at the resort and what to expect during our stay. She was professional and very nice. She gave great directions and went above to share her thoughts on the activities that were going on at the resort. A perfect 10 check in !! Please share my thoughts with her supervisor on what a great associate they have at the Elite check in. Besides a winning check in with Scarlett we had an amazing day and night st the resort. The associates were all helpful and made sure our Christmas at the Gaylord was an awesome experience. We come every year to spend a night or two at this Gaylord and this years experience sealed the deal to come back next year with additional family to share this experience with. Thanks for a great time and extra special thank you to Scarlett. Wishing all the Gaylord Rockies associates a Happy New Year.

For spending $800 million on building this hotel, it really is not that great. Let’s start by the lack of wheelchairs. My daughter dislocated her knee and needed a wheel chair to get around. I called prior to our arrival. They said they have them at the front desk. For a hotel with 1, 500 rooms only having 4 wheel chairs is totally unacceptable. My daughter could not do anything at the hotel with not even an apology from the manager. So much for being a Marriott Platinum member. We did walk around the property just to see what was around. They have a very small sledding area which is $23 to go down a small man made hill. Totally not worth it. They had an ice rink that takes all of 20 seconds to skate around and they don’t even clean the ice (see picture). They have bumper cars which didn’t even operate as bumper cars so people just went around in circles. They charge you $15 for snow to throw through a hole with no ability to keep score (you can do this for free at home, are you joking?). Drinks were $8 for a beer, $12 for a wine and $14 for a cocktail so drink before you come. The managers were completely lazy just talking with one another versus saying hello to guests. It cost $30 to park your car. If they could charge you for oxygen, they would. We did the Ice exhibit with Charlie Brown which was interesting but even with a Groupon for 33% off it was still a very pricey excursion. If you live in Colorado, you can do all this and more for free. Save your money and leave this to the visitors who have no clue they are getting taken for a ride. We will never be returning. Also if you are disabled, this hotel will not cater to your ADA requirements and highly recommend you avoid this business.

My wife and four young kids stayed in this hotel on Dec 18th. We booked a connecting double queen room with a suite and applied for early check in — we did this by booking directly with a hotel agent. We arrived at 11am to find that the reservation was wrong and was for two not connecting rooms. We obviously couldn’t accept it as we have very young kids. The front desk told us that to get connecting rooms we would have to wait till 3pm for one room and 4pm (Normal check in time) for the suite. We did this and passed the time entertaining our young kids. The first room was indeed ready by 3.30pm but the second not until 5.45pm — and then it was not cleaned properly and had to be redone. The front desk lady, a woman from Rio called Eva, offered us $500 of credit — this without us even asking or even complaining. We accepted but should have recorded this on video!!!! Please make sure you do this if staying here. We also had major issues with room service, vallet and bag check. The next day when checking out the front desk said that the credit recorded was only $50 which infuriated us. I spoke to several managers and they all told me that Eva’s English is not great and she probably miscommunicated to us! Every manager also said he was the ultimate manager, only to be proven wrong and a liar as several minutes later another manager would arrive. I asked them to call Eva and they conventionally said she was on vacation and couldn’t be reached but that if they got to her later and confirmed she said $500 they would give me the credit - off course I’m not going to hold my breath as they will obviously not check or offer this back. They said if she said she only offered up $50 then it would be her word versus ours — THIS ENTIRE laughable interaction with managers I recorded on video and will distribute on DM or post online if anyone is interested. My family and I are frequent travelers, in particular through Colorado, I would strongly suggest people avoid this hotel even without consideration to this preposterous incident. It’s not professionally run, has untrained staff and is a bad property for Marriot and there are far better alternatives nearby.

We came for a Christmas show which was terrific but the hotel experience left quite a bit to be desired. Rooms are well appointed. However, once out of your room there are way too many people for their facilities. Pool, restaurants, any public area is jam packed. Dining is a foraging experience and then the hunt to find a place to sit begins. It’s just not a fun or enjoyable experience.

We stayed overnight for the Christmas events with our children. It was entirely overbooked - we had to wait a good hour to get into the ICE sculpture display, then couldn't get into a single restaurant for dinner (it was 5:30 and they all had a 4 hour wait! 9:30 dinner with young kids! Absolute joke.) We had to get grab-and-go food for way too much money and eat in the hallways. For the amount we paid for the package, it should have been spectacular but we pretty much just felt trapped without any decent food. I can't even explain how disappointed I am. Save your money - take your kids sledding for free, drive around and look at Christmas lights, and avoid this place.
