Quaint, cute and cozy
Our stay over New Year for our kids first ski trip was one of the best resort stays we have ever had. From pre-arrival planning by Dustin the concierge, to all the staff on site, and all the ways Dustin and the rest of the concierge staff assisted us while we were there, this was such an amazing stay. First, our suite was a great setup, with plenty of room for us to spread out. They setup a tent for the girls to play in and gave them some toys. Quite literally every request we had was met and exceeded. We love that there are multiple restaurants at this property. Over a long stay it gives a variety. Our only wish was that the sushi restaurant had more than just sushi. A few other Japanese dishes would make that an option for us. We just aren't sushi fans, and certainly the kids aren't. But we love Buffalos and Wyld. We also had an excellent experience with the photo concierge. We got excellent pictures and it was a fun memory. And what can I say about the spa?! One of the best there is. Great massages, and the grotto is of course amazing. But really all of the relaxing areas of the spa are just that-- relaxing. It was our first time here for a ski trip. We've been at other times of year. We will continue to return to this property. It just keeps getting better!
My wife and I have stayed here during the winter for a wonderful ski vacation and our summer visit was just as good. Both season stays are so complimentary with all that this resort offers. The hiking from the back door, watching elk/deer in the late afternoon up on the green slopes and the pool and hot tubs make the afternoon so enjoyable. We had a fantastic stay, the staff shined on every level. The folks in the Club Lounge were over the top trying to make every thing perfect.
I stayed here for two nights for a business retreat. The hotel is located within the Beaver Creek resort surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains. The service was outstanding from the valet to everyone that I interacted with through my stay. They were all eager to help and assist with anything I had requested. The hotel is sprawling and a bit of a maze. It seemed like it could benefit from better signage. For example, the fitness center was accessible through a maze of doors and turns through the spa or through a creepy & dirty staircase. The fitness center was very well equipped, however, with a large studio area available in addition to cardio and strength equipment. That gets us to the room, which was very large, but unfortunately well below the standard of a Ritz Carlton. There were stains on the rug, a stain on the shower curtain, the bathroom mirror frame was badly chipping and the interior of the closet appeared to be made of particular board. My room was missing both a laundry bag and a privacy sign. It smelled old. There was nothing luxury about it. The service could not outweigh the guest room experience and I was disappointed with my stay.
We stayed at the Ritz for a wedding that was at the hotel. We were assigned to a "basement" room. It was not ideal ( no view, shared dirty patio- lots of spider webs" so we asked to switch rooms. We were told the hotel was full try the next day. That evening, some kind of huge industrial unit that was outside of our room made a lot of noise and we could not sleep. We requested a room change again and were told they were full. In the meantime, our friends had just checked in, they did not like their room and told us they easily switched. I asked to see a manager and was given the "run around." After a few minutes, he came out and miraculously found a room with a view and a balcony. There are other issues with this hotel. We have been to many Ritz-Carltons and this is by far the weakest one. The hot tubs had tiles missing, the "heated" pool was freezing (even the kids would not go in), and they seemed short-staffed. The wedding we attended was beautiful! However, the short ribs were fatty, tough, dry, and inedible. The burrata salad was great as well as the cake. The valet staff were so kind and helpful. I would find another hotel next time we are in town, especially for the prices we paid.
A 5-star Ritz Carlton? Not anymore. From the one-ply toilet paper to the vacuum cleaner sitting in the lobby to the food left on the hallway carpet for days to the scratchy towels, there was not much to convince anyone on our trip that this was a Ritz Carlton. We stayed in this same resort 18 years ago and virtually nothing has been updated, and now the carpeting has spots on it in the furniture is dirty. Worse yet, the service was far from the Ritz Carlton standard. Employees in the coffee shop and at the front desk were nice and professional, but the others were clearly annoyed that our company chose to stay there. Bartenders, in particular, were rude and wanted to get off work as soon as possible. And housekeeping? Well, one day there were two plates from room service with old french fries and edamame shells left in the hallway for nearly 24 hours. I finally reported to the front desk so it could be taken away. More below. Other issues: *Prices are out of control. A fruit and yogurt parfait was $10 and a Manhattan cost - wait for it - $40. I am from Kentucky, where we can get four Manhattans for $40. The bartenders, as I said, were not friendly, and at night they turned off all the lights outside right at 11 PM so that we had no choice but to leave the fire pits and go back to our rooms instead of buying more alcohol from them. *There’s absolutely nothing to do at the Ritz. The pool is tiny and filled with children so that wasn’t enjoyable and you can only go to the spa so many times before that becomes boring. Employees in the gym had no idea what they were doing, and didn't even know if I was allowed to use a locker. The outdoor area closes so early at night and there are no walking trails for daytime. The resort is extremely secluded atop a mountain, so unless you’re skiing, you have to take a shuttle (which will make you sick because the drivers whip around mountain curves and most of the seats are on the side of the bus) down to Beaver Creek. A trip into Vail for more to do required about five different transportation systems or cost you over $100. Ridiculous. A summer visit there is boring. *In the room, housekeeping and turn down service staff were far too intrusive. The first two days they moved my pillbox from my side of the nightstand to my partner's, until I forgot to take my med one day and left a note saying to stop moving my pillbox. Who moves a guest's medication?! I had to put my toiletries away in a drawer each morning just so they would be left alone. And one day they hung my exercise pants on the coat tree and it took me an hour to find them - because why would I think to check the coat tree?! Pictures are evidence, so I've included some here. Colorado is beautiful and there is so much to do in this general area in both summer and winter. There are so many nice hotels and resorts within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and activities. Save yourself a LOT of money, get FAR better service, and have a LOT more fun by staying somewhere other than the Ritz Carlton Batchelor Gulch.
$600+ per night but couldn't use a phone charger..... Rooms were fine. Pillows sucked. Restaurants are good. Wouldve given 5 stars but the lady at the front desk wouldn't let me purchase or use a phone charger (that she had at the desk) for 30 min. Said I had to charge it there at the front desk and offered no solutions. Yes its trivial, but this is an expensive hotel. Seems stupid af that I couldn't use a charger. So 1 star for the lack of awareness that we spent a fortune to stay here and couldn't use the $6 charger.
Stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch a number of years ago as a surprise to my then girlfriend. Had planned a (VERY) special dinner one evening at Anderson's Cabin, which sounded amazing - but as it turned out - a bit outside my budget. During that same trip, we went on a hike and passed by (photos shown), and I regretted my decision. It would have been an amazing experience (I am sure) - and after all - it's only money. One day!

my best friend and i stayed for just one night at the RCBG and wished we could’ve stayed forever!! one of the most memorable nights of our lives!! everyone was so friendly and helpful. i spoke the concierge tiffany to have a belated birthday amenity set up for my friend and she went above and beyond for us. upon arrival, paul from valet and ashley at the front desk were so courteous and friendly. i didn’t get the names of the front desk associates at the spa but they were also very nice. the spa was amazing! it’s not required to book an appointment so we used their sauna and steam room and absolutely loved it. we had dinner at wyld which had amazing food options that were very tasty. i will definitely be coming back for another stay sometime soon! thank you ritz-carlton bachelor gulch!
On a long road trip, weather took a bad turn (snow in mid-April), so we decided to splurge and stay at the Ritz. It was a great choice. We've stayed at a few other hotels in this area, Westin Beaver Creek and the Park Hyatt, and this was by far the best. Fabulous room, and the staff could not have been more welcoming to us and our dog. The restaurant food was an unexpected plus: We are vegan and it's not easy finding good meals at hotel chains in the middle of the country. But his chef really knew his way around veggies. Amazing fresh salads, sweet potatoes (I tried unsuccessfully to get the recipe), and pizza. Thanks, Ritz, for a fabulous stay.

We are regular visitors during the ski season at this area but this was our first time at the Ritz and it was great! Super convenient family suite, amenities and staff! Shoutout to Valeria from Peru at the Ritz Market, so sweet and efficient, she always went the extra mile!
The Ritz Carlton Bachelor’s Gulch is truly a skier’s paradise! From the moment we arrived under the log porte-cochère, we knew we had stepped into heaven. The entire lodge has the feel of a warm log cabin, with upscale features. Friendly faces are all around to tend to one’s every need. This ski in resort takes going to the slopes to another level. You are mere footsteps to the chair lift that will whisk you away to the best slopes we have experienced in quite a while. There is a ski shop right on property where you can buy lift tickets, rent equipment, and buy clothing items for your time on the slope. Very convenient! If other forms of exercise is what you are looking for, the Ritz has a wonderful workout facility adjacent to a spa that hosts a “grotto” for your relaxation pleasure. There is also a massive swimming pool and hot tubs if you would like to take a dip, while snow tumbles all around you. As far as restaurant choices go, we had the chance to experience Wyld-upscale dining with an open kitchen and views of the slopes. There are also other options such as Sakaba, the Japanese restaurant on property, The Market for quick bites, and the Fireside Bar for apres ski delights. The rooms have had a pleasant makeover and they are quite beautiful with a modern flair. The beds are very comfortable and the bath products smell terrific! The hotel has thought ahead by having humidifiers in the rooms since the air is dry, which is a special touch. Housekeeping did an awesome job at keeping things fresh and feeling like everyday was the first day. We stayed on club level which made meals and lounging time something that we didn’t have to plan for. The five food offerings met the needs of both adults and children, never leaving anyone hungry. This area took the stay to another level! Again, the Ritz knows how to give its guests a pleasurable stay with its service. In particular, Anna and Enrique on Club did an EXCELLENT job!!! We have stayed here in the past and this stay reminded us as to why we always keep coming back. You will not be disappointed with your trip to Bachelor Gulch when choosing the Ritz Carlton!
This hotel is more like a rundown, outdated ski chalet than your typical Ritz Carlton. We stayed there for a couple of days on a ski trip. Among the pros of staying there are the location, beautiful mountain views and easy access to skiing, basically you can store your skis and equipment with their storage service, then hop on the chair lift with easy subsequent access to many trails. But here is where the positives ended for us. We had a room with club lounge access. I don't think I am exaggerating when I characterize the food offerings in the club as borderline non-edible. They are serving chicken tenders in the club that looked and felt like rubber, cheese fries that were left there for hours, just to give some examples. The alcohol offerings were mediocre at best and downgraded from the same period last year. We complained to the management of the club about the food and alcohol offerings, and were promised improvements that never materialized. Upon following up, all we got was just lip service about how hard they are trying to meet our expectations, but nothing was done in the end. We ate at Wyld and Sakaba. At Wyld we literally waited 15 minutes to be seated while the only hostess was chatting with some self-entitled customers who had no regard of the fact that there were other customers waiting. Sakaba was out of quite a few items on the menu, with the justification of approaching the end of the season (so?). The ski service downstairs was better, but even they had issues with finding my ski and boots reservation - once they found it, it was a smooth process. In order to avoid a looming snow storm and drive safely to Denver, we decided to leave a day early and were promised not to be charged for that night. Sadly, this promise was not kept and they even charged us for overnight parking for that day, despite leaving before the check-in time (that charge was removed upon me calling to complain, but not the nightly charge). All in all, we will not return. The only thing Ritz-like at this hotel is the exorbitant prices they charge for the rooms and food on-site. I accepted these prices expecting the requisite value in return, which unfortunately was severely lacking.
Amazing experience... Great food, wonderful drinks. We had a great time. Spencer at the bar outside provided wonderful personalized service! You just hope a place provides the personalized level of service that Spencer did. Even jumping into our Uno game to help fill in for one of our family members. Warm and wonderful service you expect from the Ritz!
Just visited this property for the first time since Covid. Prior to Covid, this was our hotel and ski resort of choice. It was a quiet family mountain get away that set itself apart from the Beaver Creek and Vail apres ski party scene. However, this trip felt more like college spring break. Loud techno music started everyday at noon and played until 6:30 at which time the hotel turned its music on and played it very loud until 9:30pm. We could hear the music in our room, no quite glass of wine on the balcony for us. At one point, sitting in the jacuzzi, we could hear the music from the bar along with the super loud music from the lift, to much and to loud. In addition, music is loud in all restaurants and common areas. Even in the club level, loud music started at 7:00 in the morning upon opening. Retrieved our coffee and went back to the room. The ONLY place we found quiet was in the spa lounge of which my husband and I had to be separated of course by men and women, we couldn’t enjoy the quiet together. I spoke with Matthew the manager and he was super nice and polite but said unfortunately he could do nothing about the music but did kindly offer to switch our room. We declined because we had one night left and came to view the mountains not of the road. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing ski vacation, The Ritz at Bachelor Gulch is not for you. If you are looking for a big apres ski party scene, enjoy. To the responding manager, I do not need the standard apology of “Thank you for choosing to stay at the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch and providing your honest feedback on the Guest Satisfaction Survey.” My point in writing this review is just to let people know what they are getting which is a Marriott hotel at Ritz Carlton prices.
