Great Pasta!!!! Our greeting was less than optimal. A man who was working the front told us to wait outside a couple of times. I said no, we will have a seat at the bar and have a glass of wine. He said your table will be ready in 2 minutes there is no time for that. We sat at the bar anyway and he ignored us and didn't offer us a drink.

I have to say I’m really disappointed on this restaurant. My boyfriend is new to the Valley and I suggested this place for our Valentines dinner. We arrived a little late to our reservation like 8:20, and from the moment we sat down the waitress said “you have to make your dinner choice fast because I have to put the order in for the kitchen, we close at 9.” What?! If you close at 9 you should be able to sit people even if they show up at 8:50 (basic restaurant service rules). We placed our order for appetizers and dinner, the food came out SO FAST, that didn’t even gave us time to enjoy our appetizer and our dinner properly, they were rushing us constantly! My boyfriend’s plate had the marinara sauce spill all over it, the meatballs were absolutely tasteless and they were swimming in this messy pool of water. We told they waitress and she just said, “oh no worries, we’ll take them off your ticket.” Didn’t even offered to bring us something different or replace the plate, nothing! Because they were in such a rush to clean, some employees were mopping the floor already. You can clearly see in the pictures, what a mess! If you can’t properly attend to guests until the time you’re supposed to be open, you shouldn’t be in business at all. This restaurant used to be one of my favorites, never going back there again.

They accommodated us without a reservation, the menu choices and food quality was excellent and service was even better. Quaint setting added to the evening within a small dining room.

Had an enjoyable dinner here with my family, after a long day of skiing. We were able to book a table via email, highly recommended, as they turned away a lot walkins. Their takeout counter was super busy too, wait time of 1 hour from what I heard at the counter. For appetizers we had the escargots (fresh but just a bit in salt), mixed salad with caper berries and candied walnuts, and flat bread with asiago. For mains we had the wood fired pizza (smoked mozza/pork shoulder) was good, house special lasagna (bit too thick), osso bucco (very good especially the bone marrow) and short ribs (touch sweetness in the sauce, cooked well). Just wish the mains had a bit more veggies in the dishes. For desserts we had the gelato (caramel, pistachio and raspberry - tasted like regular ice cream) and the penna cota mixed berry (was good). Service was quick, attentive and friendly.

But the Ticino sauce! I'm obsessed. Completely delicious dishes that I can't pronounce, but I'm coming back for seconds (and thirds).

My buddy and i ate here tonight. First let's start with a praise. The waitress of asian descent was very good and attentive. Very nice, had good conversation. Very nice lady. Now we'll get into why this review is only 3 stars. I feel there was no love put into the food. Between the two of us we had a bottle of wine plus one extra glass. My buddy had Alfredo pasta with scallops which were 15 dollars extra and he got about 5 scallops. I had the la rosa ravioli which in my opinion was meh. The sauce was something that tasted like you could get from the store and my buddies scallops lacked flavor. The chicken parmesan was definately frozen, not made with any love. Can't say the raviolis were frozen for sure, but the chicken parmesan... ive had better from olive garden. For a bottle of wine and two entrees we paid 143 dollars and yes we did tip our waitress for being so kind . For that amount of money i expect everything to be made from scratch, hand breaded and sauced and we didn't get that. The plates and bowls also reminded me of something out of your first bachelor apartment, and just did not compliment the food at all. Overall, i was disappointed in the restaurant, but hey, you're an itilian restaurant in a ski town and you will get customers regardless. And that is why i feel love doesn't need to go into the food because they will get their business anyway.

This is a small neighborhood restaurant with great food and service. Much better than any Italian place in Vail and much more reasonable prices. If you are looking for good Italian food at affordable prices look no further than Ticino.

Cozy joint with the best Italian food I’ve had in Vail valley. The house special Lasagna didn’t disappoint. Other pasta dishes were also great. Their maranina makes the dish. Nice selection of Italian wine and a friendly staff. It looks like they have a nice patio as well during warmer weather.
