The best Lobster and lobster bisque in the country.
I have been craving it for years.
Love to Butch!
And to Dwight and Sally!
Two of my favorite people!

This is and has been one of our favorite places! We live in Aspen and see Butch’s as our sanctuary. The food is great and we enjoy the atmosphere and the music. Plus, we adore Butch!!!
Last Saturday, August 30, we had a server—a young blond woman who was nasty and viscous to us the second we sat down. We tried to appease her by being extra nice, but it only exacerbated her venom. It was the worst experience we have ever had in any restaurant. If she is there, we won’t go back. Alas! The loss of our sanctuary!

Cool spot in Basalt. Laid back vibe, but solid food. Service was great. Big portions of tasty food make up for the price tag. 9-yr old had fish and chips and loved it. We tried the lobster bisque- Yum! And a lobster roll and shrimps po-boy. Both winners. Also highly recommend the Moscow mules - delish!

We had such a great time, and the food was absolutely delicious. We couldn’t get enough of the rock shrimp. It was such a beautiful evening, it will live in my fond memories for a long time. Thanks Butch :-)

Wow. Absolutely Horrid. The fried fish was extremely rubbery, scallops mushy, and it all took so long to get to us. Waitress was apologetic about the awful cut of fish but we still paid. Three entrees, three drinks: $170 (pre tip). Will never go back.

The service was terrible. We waited for 45 minutes for our food, when it finally came they told us that they were out of the Ipswich clams and asked if they could substitute them for little necks. We waited another half an hour and after I got up and checked with the waiter, because little next take no time at all to serve all you have to do is open them, he said oh we are out of those too. So we asked him what we could have that he could bring out right now and he said the bang bang shrimp and some clam chowder. The Bang Bang Shrimp was mediocre as was the chowder which was quite watery. I don't know what's going on at Butch's because the past few years they've been very good. But I do not recommend that you visit this season.

This place was such a vibe! They had live music playing and delicious food! The lobster roll was amazing. They have outdoor seating, and I noticed the owner brought more chairs out when there wasn't enough seating for everyone.

What a fantastic environment to enjoy the freshest seafood! Thank you Butch's Lobster Shack for never failing to impress. We spent 6 hours at the restaurant and the staff were so accommodating and fantastic. We look forward to visiting this restaurant each time. We are excited to visit again and experience the amazing atmosphere!

I've had lobster rolls in many different restaurants in Colorado and elsewhere. This was different than any I've had before. The whole thing tasted like the flat top where they griddled the bread. The bun was huge and some strange bread almost like ciabatta that they burned the edges instead of toasting with butter. It is not as good as split hot dog buns. Also after I removed the comical amount of celery, there wasn't much lobster at all. When I tried the lobster by itself it was flavorless. No old bay, or salt or even the taste of the sea. Really wanted to like this place after waiting a few years to try it based on timing. 35$ is pretty standard, but when you compare pictures at other restaurants there is a notable difference in quality and quantity. I bet if they were open year round, it would last very long. The novelty sells.

The crabcake was tasty but not a maryland or east coast style. Much more like a gulf coast style. Heavily shredded crab with lots of shell and seasoning.

Went after a hike in the Aspen area with my dog and was easy to park nearby and good atmosphere. The clams casino are definitely my favorite! Along w the butter lobster roll and clam chowder. Drinks were also pretty strong!

If there was more meat on the roll, maybe I could taste it.
