It’s my second time dining in this spot and I would say I had a great time.
The first time I came in was only for starters . I was surprised how big the charcuterie board was.It got us filled up so we weren’t able to get entrees. The crab cakes tasted good too.
The second time was really the full course . We enjoyed the pork belly starter that was paired with the fresh watermelon. We had the tenderloin for entree which was okay . The corn ravioli on the other hand was delicious. We finished it off with their tasty and sweet chocolate cookie skillet 😋
The cocktails were good too .
We had a bit of delay with our food but over all the experience was great. Our servers were really nice and attentive.
I recommend this spot .

Free Range Kitchen came recommended by two clients. So, when I had out of town guests, in late September, we decided to make early dinner reservations. It was early and the restaurant was empty, so, one would expect efficient service. It took a while for someone to take our order and from appetizers to entrees, we had to wait an hour. Farm to table is one thing, but when all the tables tops around you are also waiting for their entrees and looking around for wait staff to explain the delay, it’s a service issue. I had to get up twice and go from the patio into the restaurant to find our waitress. The food finally came. Our guests’ chicken was dry and the ravioli was undercooked and bland. My fish was okay, but not delicious. And one item that we ordered never came, so I had to ask them to take it off the bill. So, needless to say, Free Range Kitchen was a disappointment.

One of the most underwhelming and disappointing meals I’ve had in a while. The trout dip didn’t even taste like trout . Our food took a long time to arrive and when it did my crab cake and asparagus were cold and my boyfriend’s chicken was rare and bloody inside. Wouldn’t come here again and don’t recommend.

Great spot for great food. Been here at least 5 times, usually a group of 6-8, after a day on the river, and the staff is amazing. I love the pork chop!!

The food was very good, with the ravioli being one of the best things I have ever eaten. Very generous portion sizes, good service, and if you can sit outside the views are superb!

Really good dinner in a beautiful setting with friendly service.
Great service by Renee! Delicious margarita and truffle fries. Corn ravioli entree so different and tasty. Appreciate the pace of service and that manager personally checked in with us. Like the new menu.
great location and ambience but service was extremely slow, took 30 minuets for drinks and another hour for our food. All 4 of us had 'stomach problems' afterwards. Ive tried this now 3 times and with the same experience. as nice as it appears, its just not up to proper food and service standards, I wont go back.
Great breakfast and wonderful service.

We had the crab cake which was just crumbs. We had the fish tacos no flavor. We had the honey chicken sliders - they were good. It was busy not sure what they serve which is good. I would never go back.
Beautiful new restaurant with patio seating right on Basalt river park makes for good vibes and scenic views. Food is fresh and healthy, recipes are modern and interesting to taste. Attentive and professional wait staff. Owners come by to say hello and check in. Locally owned and operated.
Our waitress Kelly was very attentive and helpful, especially when we had to move inside from the patio due to weather. We had the lamb and the halibut which were both pretty good.
I can’t find any thing to improve! This place is a gem! Ditch Aspen & head to Basalt (Yes, Basalt). Food, atmosphere, service - Free Range Kitchen has it all going on. And we got to enjoy good live music on top of it. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience!

My husband love the elk tenderloin. I chose the NY Strp because I've had it before and it was amazing. Not this time. It was two grizzly mound of meat. I kept trying to cut it at different angles... no luck. It was grizzly everywhere. Approximately 1/4 was edible and that was with grizzle. The rest wasn't edible. My dog enjoyed it. I will never order it again if we go back.
