Happy Eating Asian Cafe is a hidden gem and a great neighborhood find tucked away off of Welch St. The restaurant is a converted house, offering a handful of tables in a space that is not fancy. The business is run by really nice people who provide excellent and really helpful service.
The food is the best Chinese food with that old school Chinese flavor. It features good quality ingredients with amazing flavor, and entrées are cooked to order and come out of the kitchen piping hot. The flavors and sauces are delicious, and the vegetables are crisp. It is not too greasy. Dishes like the Royal combo, kung pao combo, Kung Pao Chicken, and Sesame Chicken are delicious, light, crispy, and de-lish. Portions are huge, with plates brimming with food, and the price is AMAZING and very reasonable. For dine-in lunch, complimentary soup like Hot & Sour and Egg Drop is offered, which is tasty and loaded with stuff, not just broth.
It is a wonderful small business and a great surprise for anyone in search of good Chinese or Asian food, ensuring customers will not be disappointed and will be back soon and often.
