If you are in the area, this place has some delicious food. We had the nachos as an appetizer and they were delicious. For an entree we tried the cheesesteak sandwich and it was so perfectly made! The service was okay. I think they were super stressed about being busy though.
Now I'm from Mississippi and I only visited this place once, but the staff I met was friendly and the bbq sauce on offer was different from what I'm used to but it was delicious. Their cole slaw was definitely different from what I'm used to in the south but my fiance and I loved how different and light tasting it was. I'd definitely come here again when we vacation in the area again. Their pork belly burnt ends nachos are amazing as well!
If you're into true barbeque this establishment is for you. It is now called JKQ -BBQ. I enjoyed a very healthy serving of 1/2 rack st lewis style ribs with a side of JKQ beans and potatoes salad. This was definitely a meal for two. I was hungry so I indulged. The atmosphere was definitely historic. The bar still looked the same from 25 years ago. This is a family owned venue. If you want to take time away from the black hawk casinos and settle down for great food. This place...
