I love trying new restaurants. Nothing beats the experience of trying a new dish and finding an atmosphere to match.
This place was perfect. The clam pizza was a dream.

Went in a group of 6. Food is plated with family style serving in mind.

Service was spectacular. Team effort in food delivery, kids and adults beverage refills, table clearing, answering general questions. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about their wine curation.

Pricing for food is fair, flavor profiles well balanced (ordered two pizzas, lasagna, foccacia, chicken, potatoes, donuts - all well executed).

The location is a little odd in the middle of a midrise apt complex, but don’t let that put you off. Well worth a stop.

Had an amazing evening at Basta! The wood-fired atmosphere and authentic Italian vibes make this Boulder gem special. Avery was absolutely fantastic - she makes the best espresso martini in Boulder, perfectly crafted with incredible attention to detail. Her service was excellent throughout the night. Highly recommend!

I’d been waiting to try this place and unfortunately was disappointed. Service was very poor, food was so so, and ambiance was lacking. I won’t be coming back, bummer.

Everything perfect from the vibes to the food. Not a lot of restaurants achieve excellence like this anymore imo

Tbh i slept for a long time on this one , couldnt tell you why, i was enjoying Dry Storage the other day and made up my mind to finally come here.

Fine experience. The location is easy to access and offers indoor and patio seating. There is a rotating menu with small bites, large plates and pizzas. We opted for the burrata and focaccia to start. Admittedly, we did not need that much bread but both options were delicious. The wood fired pizzas are light and crispy in the center with a fluffy crust. The rest of the menu did not jump out at us - the mains and sides seem to be plain items you can get anywhere. Definitely plan to make a reservation for the weekend. Plenty of parking available. 22% gratuity applied to all bills which I will continue to disagree with.

It’s a good place to eat if you’re looking for a good family Italian restaurant. Definitely not up to the standards of a Michelin star restaurant.

Basta has a charming ambiance, with its dark, rustic vibe and an open kitchen featuring a wood-fired pizza oven that sets the stage for an inviting dining experience.

However, the pizza falls short of expectations. While not bad, it’s unremarkable—far from what I’d anticipate from a Michelin-rated spot charging $22 for a margherita pizza. The crust is dense without the satisfying chew, and the sauce and cheese are average at best.

Adding to the disappointment is the mandatory 22% gratuity on every check, which feels less like a reward for excellent service and more like a way to pad the bill.

The menu offers standard pizza options, with a few creative twists, but the overall experience feels uninspired. Basta seems to lack the soul and passion one would hope for, leaving it indistinguishable from many other restaurants in Boulder.

Cosy, intimate, providing comfort food made from fresh in-season ingredients. Surprised to find it in a collection of condos. If I lived there, I'd eat there every night. If I were forced to change anything it would be to expand red wine selection a bit and to place your fabulous bread into a less hot spot in wood fired oven.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Boulder and the surrounding cities. The food is consistently delicious, the drinks are great, and there’s something new on the menu at least once a month. It’s hard to pick a favorite part but the service might be it. Everyone who works here is amazing and prompt and funny and kind and thoughtful.
10/10 best place to eat.
