Consistently delicious coffee, prepared with skill and passion, paired with scrumptious pastries, Warm, friendly, yet lively ambience with a view of the beautiful Flatiron Mountain range. What more can one ask for?

Truly everything one could want in a cafe! So glad this is the South Boulder area - the strawberry matcha and kouign amann (really, all fresh pastries) are truly delicious!

I am starting to get very frustrated with Boxcar. You advertise Fall baked goods have arrived 3 days ago on social media. Social media is the same as advertising on TV, Radio. When you say they have arrived you're engaging with consumers to come in taste our new selection.

I arrived Friday morning before 9 am to find nothing and when I ask I am told they aren't available at this location. Mind Blown! seriously you advertise the new selection but its not being offered???

False advertising is a bad way to do business. You need to do better.

Coffee is good, but almost every time I go there's only a meager choice of food that isn't sold out. I haven't even seen a pastry there for months. And if you want to sit outside in the summer, there's often little to no shade.

Excellent. Had no knowledge about the place/what to expect. Dark roast was very good (free refills), pastry I got was excellent, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Pretty laid back, yet at the same time lively crowd.

Good breakfast sandwich and nice staff. I'd suggest using real fried eggs in the sandwich though, in lieu of the premix omelet. I'd come in more often if that was the case, favoring your competitor on the other side of the strip mall there, who use fried eggs. Your price is better though, so I enjoy it now and then. I like the atmosphere at your place better.

Had a Cardamom, Rose Latte, which was as amazing as it sounds, and shared the most delicious croissant. The view of the Flatirons is just gorgeous! This is a nice, comfortable, modern spot with fantastic offerings. Loved it!

I find that the Table Mesa location is always a gamble. Sometimes the drinks are good and properly made... But on many occasions I've had mediocre beverages.

I think part of it is the rapid turnover in staff. I understand that new baristas need to train, but I regularly observe the 'more senior' barista barely paying attention and a lack of willingness by the staff to remedy mistakes. Recently I ordered a cappuccino 'to go' and it was served in a cup 'to stay.' I informed the barista that the drink was 'to go' and the barista just poured it into a paper cup, thereby removing any foam, a fundamental and defining element of the drink. I asked if they could remake it and the staff said they would need to ring me up for a new drink. I then heard the barista inform the cashier about how to mark that a drink is 'to go'. So they knew they made a mistake, but were unwilling to remedy it.

Lastly, it has been really disappointing to see boxcar opt for Pacific brand alternative milks over the past year. The amount of added sugar in Pacific is more than 2.5x the amount in Oatly and really masks the quality of the espresso, especially in a drink like a cortado. I understand that Oatly is about 10% more expensive when ordered wholesale, but it is a far superior alternative milk to Pacific.

Like many, I live in the neighborhood and want this coffee shop to succeed, but if I am going to spend $5+ for a coffee drink (before tip) I expect better service and higher quality.

On a positive note, the pastries are always exceptional and I enjoy the seasonal offerings that they introduce regularly.

I went two times and I didn’t have a really good experience. First time they said they couldn’t warm it up a ham & cheese croissant and last time it took so long for a coffee. Completely different experience compares to the other Boxcar. I hope gets better!
