I’m a vegetarian who sinfully came in for the beef bourguignon and it was literally one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Only knock on this place for me is its hours.
Cute atmosphere but the food leaves a lot to be desired. Overpriced food for what you get, but we went for restaurant week so at least we got a bundle. Good fries and crème brûlée, but the gnocchi was mushy and not great. Maybe their Spanish menu is better?
I hate to say it bc I try to lift restaurants up but this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. It took 20mins just to order bc they seemed short staffed. No bartender/host and one seemingly stressed out server.
I ordered the coq au vin and it was simply awful. I was trying to be polite about it. I NEVER say food is bad so this was wayyy out of my comfort zone to speak up. But it was one of the worst things I’ve ever had. No flavor and no wine! It’s coq au VIN. I literally didn’t taste a drop of red wine. It was watery and lacked any flavor. Not even salt or pepper!!! I have French grandparents and lived in Paris. This was honestly insulting to French people and their cuisine. I know I have high standards but this didn’t even come close. Then I get a salt shaker that’s empty and almost nothing came out. The waiter didn’t do anything to rectify that. I’m really glad they comped the meal because otherwise I probably would’ve refused to pay.
And then the audacity to automatically charge 20%— for what service? The guy was literally running around and unable to really provide anyone with service. I’m shocked this place is open. They need a lot of work IMO. I would never step foot in there again. The only good thing was the bread and butter. My husband’s dish was okay but lacking flavor and they put in a very spicy sausage when French only eat mildly spicy sausage. Nothing about this place seemed French to me and I would know. My French grandmother would have refused the dish and left and I kind of wish we had left too. We almost did after not being serviced for so long. Oh and he took someone else’s order that came after us before our order. Just plain bad service and bad food. Would never recommend.

This restaurant is small & cozy. They had the fireplace going while we were there which added to the ambiance. The food was delicious. I ordered the Coq au Vin. The chicken fell off the bone! The jus was tasty. The sangria was pretty good as well as the Creme Brulee. My friends ordered the Cassoulet, Salmon Entree & Salmon Salad. They all said their dishes were very good.
Great service great food!!!!
Love that Cafe Aion requires proof of vaccination to eat inside! We enjoyed a wonderful brunch. Interesting, diverse menu, delicious food and excellent service. This was a birthday celebration and we got special treats! HIghly recommend.
Had the best dinner tonight for Valentines Day since the lock down. Every bite was delicious! So happy brasserie is still around in some form!
We ordered Duck confit because if the picture on their web site. It arrived and looked nothing at all like picture. I was under done and pale . Just awful.Big disappointment.

french food and the setting here is great. visited sat afternoon. service treated us so nice.
Excelent cusine with Marocco and Spanish fusion. Generous portion. Good wine. Attentive and frendly service. I ate very well and I had a good time. Better impossibile!
Fine service and prices. The Benedict was delicious. Great location. Only fault -- one restroom was out of service and the other was not quite as clean as it should be.
Driving around Boulder in a house tour. Cafe Aion was on the way so we decided to stop for lunch. We were early so not many people. Started with a ginger limeade. Excellent. Great choices. Wife had Turkish breakfast. Many different bites. I had fried chicken sandwich with chips. Mostly good but dry cheese spread instead of mayo. Donut for dessert. Fresh and tasty. Excellent service. Food came out quickly. I will try a more adventurous choice next time.
We returned to this café for the second time the other day. The previous time was over a year ago and the food and service were very good. This time the service was excellent but the food completely bland. Being a hot day , we started with gazpacho soup. The presentation was excellent but the soup itself was ordinary. Very little flavor. We then had some roasted cauliflower. This was the one positive food item that we ordered. For a main course I had the vegetarian tagine; my companion had a falafel dish. Both were totally ordinary. The alcoholic beverages were also pretty ordinary. The price for the meal with tip was about $100. Too high for the quality. We won’t be returning.
