I love their Sweet Pork Burrito, it’s the best burrito i’ve ever tried. I’m from Texas and came visiting and I never ate Pork this good. Definitely recommend!

Originally ate at their location in Fort Collins. Moved to Lakewood a few years back, but every time I visit Boulder I have to stop by, especially for breakfast. Not many restaurants have maintained their quality of food, but there guys sure have! Absolutely love their smothered burritos!

Edit for the owner: You're welcome!! I dream about these burritos, they are incredible! I wish you had one in Denver. Cafe Mexicali should be in every major US city. So underrated.

Ensalada mexicali is everything I want in a fast casual Mexican dish.

Easily the best and most consistent Mexican food in town. Healthy portion sizes and decently priced for the amount of food. Comfortable dining experience, mostly capable and helpful staffing, great to go option as well.

steals tips

edit: *never* trust management to pool tips, if they aren’t skimming from the top now, it will 100% happen, there is no reason to do tip pooling just pay your staff more

I'm so hooked on the inside out burrito. It's my go to.

I ordered chicken tacos and there was multiple hairs, when I asked where the water cups were the staff rolled there eyes and when I turned around they quite literally pointed and laughed, the women's bathroom wasn't stocked in anything I'd never go here again

I have been for many semesters now, a huge fan of this restaurant. Today I walked in to take my cousin whom had never been. We both ordered bowls with chicken and received less than a palms full of chicken between of two of us. To truly salt the wound, we saw the employee whom robbed us of a meal (which costed 22$ between us) preparing her own lunch with chicken which was very full.

I’m no genius but I’m far from an idiot. The woman behind the counter was clearly saving herself lunch. She also was not interested in breaking conversation with her peers to serve us for a moment.

In a town with no shortage of Mexican food, this is one of my favorites.

Stopped by here in the mood for a burrito. I got a $13 chicken/rice/beans burrito smothered with creamy sauce and cheese, with lettuce and pico de gallo on the side. It was so good. Large portion good for 2 meals! Really hit the spot!😋

While getting an order placed can be a hassle, (slow systems and noisy environment with staff being a little too far to talk comfortably to), the food has always been delicious.
