We have been eating here once or twice every week for about 7-8 years now. The dishes never disappointed us. The owner is always friendly. Later we became friends.
We love this restaurant and we think this is the best Chinese food in Boulder!
Please come to check it!

Love this little place. Menu covers all the basics to include a decent mu shu. Clean. Fast. Warmly polite. And best of all, I am so damn tired of paying $20 for lunch and a glass of water in Boulder, five spice's lunch menu peaks at $13 bucks including entre, egg roll, and wanton. Five stars!

Just ok. Kind of greasy but that’s what I expected. Not too bad but not too great either.

Pretty darn good. A couple dishes just needed a bit more pop with depth and flavor. We had the spicy beef tendon appetizer... but it was only about a 1/5 spice level. The chicken Lo mein was great as well as the Szechuan chicken. M15 hot pot needed some more flavor. The staff is awesome and friendly. I definitely recommend the restaurant!

The food is fantastic — great flavor with the spice level perfectly balanced, and the portions are generous for what you pay. Just a heads-up: it can feel a little cold inside during the winter.

Five Spice offers very authentic Chinese cuisine with very affordable pricing. We’ve been coming here for quite a number of times and the food has been very consistent.

This five-spice blend is super fragrant, with a really nice balance of sweet, warm, and slightly peppery notes. It adds instant depth to stir-fries, braised dishes, and even simple roasted meat or tofu. The aroma is strong but not overpowering, so a small amount goes a long way. Overall, it’s a great pantry staple if you want to give your cooking a more authentic Chinese flavor.
