Great place but beware it is now infiltrated with 20 year olds on the weekends for the live music
I can't get over this place. I've ridden my dirtbike past here dozens of times. My son, my friend Michael and I had a unique experience tonight. Greeted and seated by Brian who turned out to be one of the owners. Down to earth and friendly and just likeable. Then we had Rachel go over the menu and get us drinks. They should clone Rachel. The world needs more Rachels. Then during our 6 course meal we pretty much met the rest of the staff and Greta. Kind, sharp and funny. Yeah, we'll clone her too.
Food was just no nonsense, honest and clean. Rich flourless chocolate torte and fruit and cheese plate to finish. Perfect.
I can't wait to go back.
Thank you all 🙏
Came to celebrate our 1 year anniversary a month ago. We visited Gold Hill the town a earlier in the year and couldn't wait to try out the Gold Hill Inn so we made reservations as soon as we were able to. The staff and owner were nice and they even gave us each a complimentary glass of champagne. After that was, no joke, the worst meal I was ever served. The homemade bread was so dry and crumbly. The tomatillo soup tasted like watered down tomatillo salsa, and the apple cider brisket with a single fingerling potato was the driest, toughest, worst tasting entree I ever had. I did not send it back because at this point, my wife and I knew if they could not execute even simple bread and butter, no way could they with brisket. (I saw other sorry souls get the same looking meal). The way they serve the sweet potatoes is just bizarre as well. We actually were laughing about how bad everything was. The rum cake for dessert was okay. We really wanted to stay for the string band playing in the front of the inn but were literally left with a bad taste in our mouths and just left. Really a shame. Such good potential for this place and we really wanted to like it, but it was terrible. Two stars because staff was nice, and the band sounded pretty good while we were eating dessert.
I somehow found this listing a few years ago when I was searching for something unique to do with our son who moved to Boulder.
After finding this charm of a town perched on the top of Gold Hill 20 minutes outside of Boulder, we had an amazing dinner.
Since then, I have told as many people as I can about this charming, realistic gold mining era place with fabulous food, good servers, and if you’re lucky a great band !
We recently had a lovely family dinner with new friends, and everybody came away amazed that they had never been there before.
It is now a biannual event for us to go and experience all the delicious meals they have to offer.
Dress casual, allow some time before your dinner, to walk the town and read the historical information plaques on the front of most of the houses.
And then enjoy yourself at the Gold Hill Inn!
Gold Hill Inn (been many times) Is absolutely wonderful! The food is prepared so well and so fresh. I judge restaurants according to how my belly feels afterwards, and every time we’ve been here, my stomach feels so good plus the food is absolutely delicious!
Not to mention the experience and the history behind it, because my husband and I love history, it’s a perfect place!
Jake at the bar is the best bartender!
Glynn kicked so much butt it’s unbelievable

The Gold Hill Tavern is very unique in its turn of the century decor. All the dinnerware and utensils are different. The service was great and the food was good. 3 or 6 course meals. Worth the trip to Gold Hill.
Had been here many times in the past, but this time was different. The food was so-so, not bad but nothing to praise. We had a couple waitresses, one who was fine and the others who seemed like they wanted to be somewhere else. Service was spotty.

Loved being in Gold Hill. Historic 150 year old town. People in town and staff at the Inn top notch. Ambience 5 Star. Food was so-so.

Let's start with the food. The meals taste like they were homemade from your family's kitchen with ingredients gathered from their back yard. It is hearty, fresh, and delicious. It is never over salted. They also are incredibly accommodating for allergies - in particular, they accommodated my gluten allergy with the most divine gluten free bread.
The service is again like you are eating in your family's kitchen. Genuine, interested, and approachable. Waiters care and it shows.
The ambiance is paramount to this spot, with wood floors and ceilings. With antiquities and comforts on the eye. This is a well-kept gem, one that I was hesitant to even review (selfishly) as this establishment goes over and beyond.

Cosy little bar. $45 per person for 6 courses meal. The building is super old. It is more than 100 years I believe. It is located at the very top of the mountain. The blue grass band was playing during our stay. On our way back, we saw the night views of the entire Boulder and the lightings in the cloud which is super cool.

I am only reviewing the dinner. I went with a group of 50 people. The dining room was inside a huge log cabin. It has a lot of character. The outdoor picnic tables were cool with a little band stand and a bar window. But as the end of day comes around and the wind picks up, watch out. Brrr. Unfortunately the meal was bland for me. I had sliced lamb with sides that were uninspiring. The best part was the warm bread and the rhubarb crumble. Maybe just an off night?
