We had the most incredible meal at Jax Fish House in Boulder. Truly a culinary experience worth raving about, thanks to Chef Anthony! There were four of us, and from start to finish, every dish was beautifully prepared, perfectly balanced, and bursting with flavor. We began with a round of East Coast oysters—briny, buttery, and ultra-fresh. A flawless way to kick things off. Next, we shared two outstanding salads: the classic Caesar with anchovies (bold and delicious, exactly how a Caesar should be) and the Kalera Greens Wedge with crispy bacon, Point Reyes blue cheese, tomato, and ranch. This salad was next-level—crisp, creamy, savory, and surprisingly elegant. For mains, the Thai Black Cod was a standout—perfectly cooked, silky, and tender, it was served over roasted sweet potato with a rich, aromatic Thai red curry sauce that added just the right amount of heat and depth. It was absolutely divine. The Blue Crab Cacio e Pepe was downright outrageous—velvety spaghettini tangled with sweet crab, nutty Grana Padano, a pop of chive, and the crunch of brown butter crumbs. Luxurious and comforting all at once. And the sleeper hit of the night? The side of Spicy Miso Mushrooms. If you go, you must order this side. Umami-rich, deeply savory, and so addictive, I found myself spooning up every last drop of that miso sauce. I would come back for that dish alone. Service was warm and attentive, the atmosphere lively and energetic, and everything arrived perfectly timed. Jax is firing on all cylinders. If you're in Boulder and want to treat yourself to an exceptional seafood-focused meal, this is the place.

We had a really nice evening here yesterday. Enjoyed moules and frites and loved the accoutrements with my dry martinis and the oyster shots. Alex our server was cool, chilled and curious and we enjoyed chatting to him. We accidentally got someone else’s sea chowder which they wnded up giving to us, and ended up being our most favorite dish - in fact one of the best chowders I’ve had in years. Also loved the oil/herbs they served with the bread. We look forward to going again. Receipt below - does not include tip.

The food was the best I’ve had in Boulder in years. Immaculate. Loved the Caesar salad, the steak was incredible, great crab legs and the shrimp was alright. Overall amazing spread.
The martini could have been colder and in a chilled glass for the price, it really should be perfect.
Great spot in Boulder with a fun vibe and excellent service! The miso spicy mushroom had a nice kick, and the oysters (West and East Coast) were fresh and flavorful. The mussels were generous, and the blue crab artichoke dip was a standout. Pair it all with their excellent wine selection. Highly recommend!
