The food was superb, the chef was accommodating with regard to our food restrictions, and out server (Gray) was delightful. Highest recommendation.

We went to Jax's last night to celebrate our daughter's birthday, and it couldn't have been better. They gave us the perfect table in front, and every dish was absolutely delicious. All four of us loved our meals—every plate was clean! Wonderful service, amazing food, and a perfect evening.

Some of the best prepared mussles we've ever had! We had the chorizo version. Our waitress was lovely. A perfect mix of engagement and letting us eat. She also avoided what many current wait staff do. She didn't walk up to the table already talking, which interrupts conversations or makes us miss the first part of what is said.

Oysters were a little gamey. And while the young waitress was lovely and friendly, the food itself was really subpar. The crab pasta had barely any crab, and it was dry. The martini was on point though. If you are looking for drinks, it's great but I were steer clear of this overpriced place for an actual meal.

We have eaten at Jax many times. We find the service and food to be excellent. Highly recommended!

The food was amazing except to us, including the oysters, the Caesar salad, the Tuna Poke, and the desserts (key lime tart, chocolate layered something) were beyond what we expected. But the BLUE CRAB CACIO E PEPE left something to be desired to us. There was no discernable crab taste to us. So this may have been our expectations, but I would not order that dish again. Perhaps offering a market price additional lump crab would be a suggestion. We did talk to the floor manager, who listened well and totally understood the position. But the chef's didn't seem to want to hear the feedback. But honestly this place is awesome. We always come here for oysters, and I love the gumbo and jambalaya and pretty much everything else we've gotten recently. And the service is always top notch. Ambience took a small hit just because its a bit noisy in a long room, and you don't want the tables right by the kitchen. But we also do like the ability to draw on the table and the local feel.

The house salad, lobster and shrimp roll and the burger were all well seasoned and very enjoyable. The food came out in a good amount of time and being able to draw on the table paper is always a great time!

Excellent all around. The calamari was the best I have ever had, so fresh juicy and tender with the most excellent crispy exterior. I am just ordering 3 serving of that next time I go.

How long this place has kept going tells you something about how good it is.

We arrived with a mobile wheelchair, our first adventure out with it, though Jax's has steps to get inside, they brought out a ramp and we were able to bring the chair inside, Staff and patrons were very helpful getting Mom in. She felt safe and not embarrassed! Thank you so much!

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Jax in Boulder. We have enjoyed meals at this location for years however this last experience was disappointing. Unfortunately, the portions were very small which has not been the case in the past. After eating appetizers, main courses and sides we left Jax hungry. Very disappointing after spending nearly $200 to leave and stop somewhere on the way home for food. Needless to say this put a sour note on our anniversary celebration.

Jax is better than most Boulder restaurants in terms of consistency, service and ambiance. Martini was excellent, Caesar salad very nice. Main course (Thai Cod) was cooked well and flavors were great but the sauce was a bit thin and it was served with the skin up. Seafood Chowder was good but not special. “Good, but” which in my experience describes every restaurant in Boulder.

Food was outstanding, PeiPei Oysters, Thai Cod and the blackpepper Tuna...amazing...good wine and cocktails as well. Our server was great, very attentive and made sure things came at the perfect time.

Jax is the place for a seafood dinner and celebration! I was afraid my family of nine would have to sit at two separate tables, but when we arrived the management had us set up at one long table. It was perfect. We got there a little before five so we put in a happy hour order to begin with. And since the three teenagers came hungry, the speed at which our food was delivered was totally appreciated. All the food was phenomenal and the service terrific. I can't stop thinking about how I enjoyed my key lime dessert and plan on getting back to Jax for an appetizer and dessert soon!

My friend and I ordered gumbo to go and the container was half full. When I showed the server, she said it was a cup and I poured it in a cup and showed her it was not even half full. Then she rolled her eyes at me. The manager came over and he said “I don't want my staff filing up the container because it will make a mess if it spills on the floor”. I've never heard of a manager saying they. This tells me they are trying to cheat you on to go orders. So I ended up asking for a bowl instead but they never “fixed” the problem and were rude the rest of the time. They don't deserve your business or your money. I travel a lot and have to eat out and that is by far the worst I have ever had, not to mention rudest manager I've encountered. Usually managers are willing to make it right. It was half a cup of gumbo, that wasn't going to hurt anyone or anything. Not a happy customer after spending $200 and getting a terrible experience.
