I got the beef arepa and it was amazing. The cheese is really good and beef is soft and flavorful

Recommended to me by a Colombian woman who said Quiero Arepas is “Colombian approved” - it was delightful!

We went at the height of lunch rush but the staff was nice and the food was cooked as quickly as it could have been by one chef!

We had the Pabellon and the Reina Pepiada and both were delicious. The plantains were to die for. The portion is large but I finished mine 🤣😋

We will be back!

Wednesday at 3, late lunch. Ordered the pabellon and plaintains with hot sauce on the side. Everything was super tasty. The arepa was huge and the stack of plantains was easily 4” tall. The hot sauce was spicy but had good flavor to it- especially with the sweet plantain flavor. Everything came out quickly, you could see them cutting/prepping plantains. All around a delicious meal.

The attention from the employee was not pleasant and the food did not have the filling as it appears in the photo, well ours, the first visit was excellent but it is very unpleasant. They should improve care

The staff is extremely rude and made a derogatory comment about my height. And they assumed that my friend didn’t understand Spanish, which is how we knew they made that comment. In other words, they will talk bad about you in Spanish. Moreover, the food options are too limited. Bad restaurant.

It is a lot. I couldn’t finish it myself. Just a bread filled with meat

Had two arepas plus plantains to share, and washed it down with passion fruit juice. Everything tasted good & fresh, and it came out quickly. I would definitely eat here again (and often).

Extremely disappointing experience that started with the staff being surly that we had the audacity to bother them to order food. We stopped here on Wednesday afternoon around 3:00p to grab a bite to eat in the Avanti food hall.

I ordered the Jamon y Queso Arepa with hot sauce and the Plantains to Share. The arepa was barely warmed--the outside had the faintest of grill marks, and all of the shredded cheese on the inside was mostly unmelted. The menu said that the side of hot sauce was supposed to be complimentary, but in looking at our receipt, we were still charged for it.

The plantains to share had a small bit of melted cheese on a single plantain and a glimmer of green sauce on top. Definitely not enough to cover more than 1-2 two of the plantain slices.

Overall, I was very dissatisfied with my experience. We have a Quiero Arepas closer to home as our neighbors in Platt Park. I would have loved to try that location, but the standard of service and quality of the prepared food has really turned me off.

Me and my mom ordered arepa Pabellón. Food was good just a bit overpriced in my opinion. Service sadly wasn’t great they took my name to give me the order but they never called us, we just realized the food was served on the counter, sadly not the best experience.

Ordered 2 cheese arepas and it was THE worst arepas we ever tasted. Authentic they are not!! If you have never eaten them and want Authentic, go somewhere else. It was like eating melted cheese with raw dough. It's supposed to be sweet like cornbread with melted hot Mozzarella cheese the arepaa was neither of that.

Delicious!! Celiac with a peanut allergy here. Felt very safe eating here, and the pabellon was excellent.

Absolutely delicious. The beans have a wonderful flavor and the Arepa had a great texture. Recommend for an afternoon pick me up or quick bite.

As someone who moved here from LA and is Colombian, Quiero Arepas has been the best find ever! I’m vegetarian and my boyfriend is celiac and this is our favorite place. Honestly we eat here every week and can’t get enough! Nothing like some arepas and plantains to make your day!

Great arepas! The space is great and really set-up for community building. I will be back.
