I genuinely love spruce so much, it’s my favorite coffee shop! I like to bring my own mug to get the 20¢ discount and to reduce plastic waste, however something that really bothers is one employee who will always make my drink in a plastic cup and then pour it into my mug which completely cancels out bringing my own cup and leads to unnecessary plastic waste. I understand they want the correct portions I guess but it continues to happen and it really bothers me. It’s just wasteful and makes me feel like my eco friendly choices don’t even matter LOL

Staff are friendly and shop is cute. However, whenever I’ve gotten a chai latte of any form it has been 90% milk. Would love to say its just because they're usually busy but its quite disappointing to spend $7 on a latte and have it be warm milk three times in a row….

After waiting in line, I ordered 2 cafe americanos (they don't have decaf) and a pastry. The male barista bungled my order and gave me only one drink. While waiting for the second drink ( you always have a wait here), I went to the condiment area to add to my coffee. After waiting several minutes, I asked about the second drink. They realized their mistake and said they would make the second coffee. I then went to retrieve my first coffee only to discover someone had pilfered it. Went back to the batista/ cashier, explained what had happened, and asked for a replacement coffee which I paid for again. Not paying attention, another batista, female, asked again what I needed. I explained again what had happened and, incredibly, she said I would have to go to the back of the line to order. Flabbergasted, I explained again what had happened and stated I should not have to go to the back of the line in light of all that had taken place and it was their fault for bungling the order in the first place. Good customer service would have been for the barista to commiserate that my coffee was stolen and offer to make a second coffee immediately. An offer of a free coffee would have been nice, but not necessary. But to insist that I had to go to the back of the line and reorder was beyond the pale. I have been going to Spruce for many years, but never again.

Best scones on the Planet. Great service from friendly staff. Why only three stars? The cappuccino was a big disappointment. Airey froth on top of milky coffee just like Starbucks .....rather than La Crema microfoam.
The vegan and gluten free Old B cookie was absolutely delightful! The flavor was rich and delicious. Each bite was a perfect balance of sweetness and taste. I highly recommend these cookies to anyone, vegan or non-vegan, looking for a tasty treat.

Spruce should consider another person in the coffee/pastry area, as getting our coffee order (not complicated) took 20 minutes. The atmosphere and music were worth coming for, however!
