Customer service lacking a bit; no one seemed to want to greet us or take our order. They were a little busy, but not enough to rush us through our order. The burrito and quiche were mushy because they microwave vs using a convection oven.Burritos are not made here; they cut open prepackaged burritos.Drinks were good, and the outside seating is nice.

A Hidden Gem in North Boulder - Spruce Confections.Nestled amidst the charming streets of North Boulder, Spruce Confections is a delightful haven that captures the essence of community and warmth. Just a short stroll from home, the journey to this quaint café treats you to breathtaking views of the mountains peeking through the buildings and trees, setting the perfect backdrop for a leisurely morning or afternoon. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by the kind and attentive staff who quickly make you feel like part of the family. Their genuine interest in getting to know you adds a personal touch that elevates the entire experience. But what truly steals the show are their heavenly pastries, freshly made each day to perfection. Indulging in one of their delectable treats is nothing short of a culinary delight. And paired with their delicious coffee, it's a match made in heaven. My go-to choice is the drip coffee, which comes with a refill at an incredibly reasonable price of around $3.25 - a steal in Boulder. What sets Spruce Confections apart is not just its exceptional offerings, but the sense of belonging it fosters within its community. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, there's an undeniable charm that keeps drawing you back. And with access to hiking trails just minutes away, it's more than just a café; it's a destination that invites you to savor every moment. In a city known for its vibrant culture and culinary scene, Spruce Confections shines as a hidden gem, embodying the true spirit of hospitality and quality. Pies at holiday were expensive and no instruction on how to bake for presentation at table. Overall the finest gluten free and regular pastry & americano is perfection.

Team is the one we hired because of the good reviews on Google. The guys worked diligently for several hours while being on schedule, courteous, and friendly.

Ordered a coffee and a croissant with ham and cheese. The coffee was great, but the croissant could use more filling. A few tables inside to warm up on a winter day.

I’m grateful this place is here in NoBo! I was surprised that it is not possible to provide butter with the warmed up pastries, though? I’m also just trying to get into the groove of when the soups are and aren’t available. They are delicious and it’s great to have a less carb-y option. Thanks for being here.

As others have said, I've always wanted to love this place. It's the closest to my house but the unfriendly service is so unwelcoming and I won't be returning. Today, Saturday, around 3pm swing in to grab a coffee after a long day of work and meeting a dear friend who is unfortunately moving away. I walk in, ask the cashier if I can run to the bathroom before ordering (again I've been out working all day) she dismisses me with a "k". I find the response strange but move on. I come out to order my coffee and am looking at the snacks in the case trying to decide if I want to order something to eat too. Same cashier is staring at me and I say "sorry just taking a minute to look at the snacks". She gives me a super dirty look to where I was shocked and stared back at her with a questioning face. She blurts out "if you are just coming in to use our bathroom JUST SAY SO!". Again in disbelief, I let her know I'm actually meeting two friends here as if I need to justify my reason for coming into the coffee shop. I understand people might abuse using the restroom without purchasing but I also think giving customers the benefit of the doubt and a bit more grace would help this place out. We are a community and it's exhausting to be always met with awful attitudes here. Not worth returning or recommending in the future. Terrible service.

Smelled delicious in there and I can’t speak for their confections, so if you’re going for something besides coffee, maybe ignore my review. But I ordered a latte and it was not a latte. As a former college barista (weren’t we all ??‍♀️) I can say that she likely just stuck the steam wand in and straight up boiled the milk, the ration of espresso to milk to foam was way off.. basically watery, overcooked milk, no foam. The price was a few dollars less than the downtown bolder coffees, but that doesn’t really count for anything if you have no interest in finishing the drink. The three stars are to acknowledge that the lady who made the coffee was extremely sweet and friendly, and the fact that they offer a nice selection of gluten free options (again, didn’t get any, but it is nice to offer!)Layout of the shop is a bit awkward, but there is outdoor seating and plenty of parking since it’s in the newly developing NoBo “arts district “

To say that it's a pleasure to go to Spruce almost every day would be a vast understatement. They have the best coffee in Colorado and pastries to match, pair those two things with staff that care about your experience, and you have the perfect cafe. If you have time and you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by!

Drove from Longmont to Boulder to get some gluten free pastries for my wife. Terrible customer service. They helped their regulars as soon as they walked in and left us waiting even though we were there first. Be prepared for a 15 minute wait for a single pastry or a small coffee.

Damn good coffee and pastry. Very nice and pleasant employees. I'm afraid I wouldn't go back though. Seems that I was wrong demographic for that neighborhood and I quickly felt uncomfortable with the stares from the other customers. I quickly realized that I did not belong in that area and decided to finish my coffee in the car rather than make people feel uneasy around me. But I did enjoy the coffee as I scratched Boulder off of my list of possible places to retire!

My favorite bakery. Pastries are incredible. Gets busy, so be patient.
