Sushi Zanmai has great sushi and other dishes. They also have hot dishes. The place is just so pretty and the seating is comfortable and inviting. Make a reservation as it will get crowded at night. Everything is just so fresh and filled with flavor. The tuna is my personal favorite. But I also love their hot dishes. The prices are high, but such is the cost of great fish these days. They have great combination plates that the whole table will love. As to the service, it is fantastic. the entire staff is welcoming and will help you with the menu if you need it. They are fast and super helpful. You will have a relaxing and great time there. Have fun.

Best sushi in Boulder! We go to Denver for the sushi (Mizu, sushi den) and this place was right on par with our favorite Denver go-to’s. The atmosphere was decent, the menu had a lot of variety. But most importantly, the fish was fresh and most of it melts in your mouth. We can’t wait to go back!

Sadly, the service was terrible, server was kind and polite, though we waited 3 hrs for our sushi order to be completed, we had a party of 7, for a bday celebration. I ordered the main round before we all arrived. The restaurant was empty. There is a fixed tip rate on larger parties which I get, but she never came to check on us. We won't be returning.
Great food and service
Out of a group of 4 , 2 of us had got really sick in the evening after eating here. We didn’t have anything else apart from that so it was definitely caused by this place. Ruined the evening of vacation.
Everything was good, just super expensive for what it was
Last time we went, it was great. This time, pretty bad. Service was awful; no one even brought water or acknowledged us for a very long time. We brought out of town family with us and were embarrassed! Soup was awful; it tasted like hot water. When I told the waitress, she seemed aware of the problem, but didn't fix it. Our lychee drinks and salad were bad. My mushroom appetizer and entree were pretty good. I don't know what went wrong. We probably won't return.
Place has seriously gone downhill. New owners have led to a sharp decrease in quality. Also seems understaffed
We hadn't been to Sushi Zanmai in awhile and decided to go back before a show at the Boulder Theater, I was pleasantly surprised with how excellent the sashimi was as well as the service. It wasn't super busy and that helped the ambiance. Glad to have Zanmai back in regular rotation!

Great time every time I go here :)
The food was delicious! It was unusually loud for a Japanese restaurant but that was due to a few patrons.
Authentic sushi for a very good price. Loved the restaurant atmosphere, the staff was helpful and nice, and the food was amazing. All in all: exactly what you want from a sushi restaurant. Our waitress even told us to try and get our order in after she sat a large group so we wouldn’t have to wait longer for our sushi to be made. Nice touch that made the experience even better. We will be coming back
Extraordinary service - freshest sashimi platter and sushi platter - all exceptionally great. We loved the tatimi room - so quiet on a super busy graduation weekend. The six of us were able to converse delightfully! Truly a memorable evening. Thank you!
Sushi Zanmai graciously made room for my party of 10. I've eaten sushi at several restaurants, and this was one of the top dining experiences!
