I was really disappointed by our experience here. I came in with my boyfriend for breakfast and from the beginning, it felt like we weren’t treated with basic courtesy or respect. When he ordered waffles, the server assumed he wanted chicken and waffles, even though he never mentioned chicken. That kind of assumption, especially given he’s a Black man, felt racially charged and inappropriate.
When the correct plate was finally brought out, it was done with visible attitude — the server didn’t say a word and practically threw it on the table. On top of that, we were still charged for the chicken and waffles on the bill, even though we never ordered it. We had to flag it and get it corrected.
The food itself was fine, but the overall experience was uncomfortable and left a bad taste in our mouths. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect when they dine out — that didn’t happen here.

I was shocked today when I went to pay my bill at Tangerine to find this line on the bill “egg supply fee 4%”. Since neither my friend nor I had eggs, we questioned the charge and were told that the bread in my friend’s sandwich contained eggs. If the restaurant had wanted to add a surcharge to all bills, regardless of what was ordered, they should have called it something else. I don’t like being duped and would have appreciated at least a better explanation for what amounted to a price increase. The food and service were the same good quality as ever but….

This had been my favorite breakfast place in Boulder for a long time. It served great atmosphere, unique and healthy food, and delicious coffee. However it has slid to a dark place. I don’t know if it changed hands or what has occurred but the options and the food quality went down badly. I took my family of three and we orders three different kinds of dishes and all were off. Corned beef hash with poached eggs? The eggs were hard, the jam with the toast was pure runny syrup, and the potato’s and corned beef were over salted. The server and manager were kind and replaced the eggs and even the jam, but it was still syrup. The pancakes were good but not fluffy. The sandwich, overly salty and overcooked eggs.
The service is great and the coffee still wonderful. I support only local restaurants as much as possible and it’s sad that the breakfast restaurant that I can walk to is not longer viable.

Very average and Nothing special. Eggs benedicts, poratoes and pancakes were very luke warm. Young male server not paying attention to simple requests such as getting side of jam or asking for coffee refills. Nor sure if we will.be back.

Food is pretty good. Depends on what you get. Up-charges are pretty ridiculous. Service is sub par. Super long wait for food, forgotten items not taken off the bill, and nonchalant/inattentive service. We were also sat next to this “art” piece that was covered in dust, which didn’t make for a great vibe. Won’t be going back unfortunately.

What a bummer … just a solid bummer ! Came in today for the first time with high hopes and an Empty belly. Ordered an item Togo and when it was presented,.. the staff member mentioned that in should look at it to ensure it was the correct order ( there was a bit of confusion with locating the order )
It surely didn't look impressive or compelling and I took it out of the bag as I didn’t need the single aluminum container in a giant bag. No mention of flatware,.. no mention of condiments or napkin but whatever…. Upon tasting,.. wow ! 17.00 breakfast plate that consisted of : 1.5 ounces of old, weepy, partially rotten hydro arugula 2.5 ounces of flavorless pinto beans (2) half ounce blobs of tacky pesto ish sauces ( one oxidized army green basil another romesco like ) Maybe 2.5 ounces of tempeh ( I wanted some protein ) but oh well Some random cut carrots that were also lacking seasoning Some collards tossed about
The whole thing was thoughtless, lacked value in every way and sadly,.. was executed poorly to boot. It’s really too bad because this place could so easily be much better. Add this to the list of Boulder restaurants that are passively allowed to be mediocre. For a town with such $$ and such education and so many world travelers,.. how do we collectivity allow For places like this to exist?
Let’s band together and help these people serve food that’s seasoned,.. that makes sense and that makes you want to return. It’s not that hard folks. I’m a lifelong breakfast freak and devotee … let me know if you want some help … I’d be happy to come in and share some passion and ideas for the betterment of us all!
