We discovered the Buff when our son was at CU for grad school and its a go to anytime we go to for brunch anytime we go to Boulder. On a trip through the mountain towns of Colorado this summer we flew in to Denver and were ordering our first tequila sunrise less than an hour after we landed. They have so many amazing choices to eat and their breakfast drink special ( 3 at .99 each for tequila sunrise, mimosa or bloody mary) is not to be missed. Can be crowded, especially on weekends. Plan to go early if you don't want to wait.
I love Boulder! The food is always amazing. The Buff did not disappoint! They were super busy yet the wait wasn't very long for a table. Service was friendly too.

The BEST local boulder spot! We’ve been many times over 3 years and the food is consistently delicious, service is always surprisingly fast, and employees are all very nice! My favorite is their chilaquiles while my partner loves their skillets & rotating coffee menu & their $1 tequila sunrises or mimosas rock! I’d eat breakfast for dinner if they were open later in the day it’s sooo good!

The Buff is a staple for breakfast, the outdoor patio is a plus. Arrive early on any big college event weekends. Check out the seasonal specials.

Best breakfast in Colorado. Food, service, atmosphere. Often long waits to get in but even that is managed well.

If you haven’t been. Go. Some of the best food around. Very fast service and the staff is always kind. Love this place. If you need a suggestion, the Florentine grilled sandwich is incredible. I get it almost every time.
My wife and I were visiting Boulder for a couple of days and on 8 Sep 2025, we opted to have brunch somewhere within the vicinity. I did a Google search of the area and discovered this little gem. In fact, I recall seeing this restaurant a month ago (via Google) whenever I was in the area again, but unfortunately, I wasn't in the mood to try it then. But alas, here we are writing a formal review of this restaurant.
Living in Las Vegas, it's not that common to see someone park far away and walk to a restaurant, but that's what we did for this place. We parked at the King Soopers down the road because the weather was nice and I always enjoy walking around after I eat to help with the digestion process. Why is this relevant to this review? It's to inform you that I'm not 100% certain of the parking situation at the restaurant aside from the one parking lot at the restaurant itself...which wasn't full when we arrived.
When we walked in, the restaurant wasn't really busy (go figure since the parking lot wasn't that full)...I think a lot of it has to do with it being a typical work/school day. Regardless, I was ecstatic to see this because I was starving and didn't feel like waiting to get seated. After we got seated, our primary server, Anthony, provided us with water and informed us that he'd return to take our order. Throughout the dining experience, he did a remarkable job; he was attentive, professional, and operated efficiently. So kudos to him and the business for validating a good customer service mantra.
We ordered coffee, Egg White Veggie Omelette w/Potatoes and Wheat Toast, Valley of the Sun Omelette w/Canadian Bacon, English Muffin, and Fruit, side of Pancakes, and side of Bacon. Everything tasted magnificent to which I had to really chew each bite slowly to ensure it wasn't just my hunger assessing the food quality - it was actually that good. Between the food temperature, texture, flavor, and quantity of ingredients, it's no wonder why this business has a significantly higher rating on Google.
The price-to-quantity/quality ratio was reasonable and I highly respect this business for their continued support to the active men and women of the Armed Forces, including its Veterans - thank you for that! I can honestly say that this restaurant is worth the visit and even though it was just my first time, I'm confident that the unparalleled quality, quantity, and service is evident 100% of the time. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Maybe we ordered the wrong things or maybe the number of reviews is due to the proximity to hotels but unfortunately this place fell short of expectations. The restaurant has a weird almost formaldehyde smell when you walk in. I thought they were under construction at first because the floors and furnishings looked so haggard. The biscuits and gravy were swimming in a watery soup that tasted straight from a packet of powder. The Benedict had overcooked eggs (for some reason they were fried instead of poached?) and the bun was soggy. Our coffees were good though and the waitress was nice and attentive. Expected better quality given all the reviews but everything was just off.
I usually visit the restaurant in-person on Sundays with my kids and have never had an issue with the food or service.
Today I ordered take-out for delivery (via UberEats) and what I received was far from the usual quality of food of what we’re accustomed to.
The chicken (in the chicken & French toast) was fried to oblivion and inedible. The cinnabun French toast appetizer (for my son) was also burned to the point where the it just tasted like burnt cinnamon.
We may come back for brunch in-person but I won’t be ordering for delivery again if this is what they send out.

Our favorite first stop every year when we come into town from St Louis. There's probably going to be a wait for a table (because they're so good) But they turn-over tables pretty quickly...and it's worth the wait! Always great food-and it's fast. Staff is friendly and attentive.

The food came out quickly, but unfortunately it wasn’t hot. The three dishes we ordered were meals you’d normally expect to be served fresh and warm, but it seemed like they had been pre-cooked and just assembled when ordered. The cinnamon French toast was overly sweet, and the rest of the food was fairly bland, especially the eggs Benedict, which was probably the worst version I’ve ever had.
One positive is that they don’t cook with seed oils, which I appreciate, but overall the food was incredibly average and not something I’d go back for.
