University Hill Market & Deli

We were in Boulder today visiting our daughter for parents weekend. We went into University Hill Market and I went to pay for the drink my daughter chose. I told the gentleman behind the counter that I hadn't been in that building since I was in college in the 90s and it was Stella's Market. We chatted for a minute and when I handed the cash over to him to pay for the drink, he pushed it back to me and handed me the soda. It may seem like a simple gesture but with all the anger and b.s. in today's world, it really made my day and I am grateful for his kind gesture. ❤️

Well stocked deli, bodega, convenience store and lunch counter with fun, old-fashioned bar stools. Open late when everything else is closed. Stock up on the basics, and also has unique items like baklava and Jumex. This is one of the best falafel sandwiches I've had in a while. Love this place!

Vegetarian options: The falafel sandwich is vegetarian, but has a sauce that may not be vegan. The other menu items have meat or animal products. There are additional vegetarian/vegan options in the store like bananas, energy bars, and chips.

Parking: Limited paid parking in the small lot down the street, and a few paid street parking spots are also available. It is better to walk or bike here if you are nearby. Don't park in the alley as it blocks traffic. A new parking lot at the Limelight Hotel will open in 2025, making it easier to get here.

Wheelchair accessibility: The entry is on a sloped hill, so this may be difficult for hand-powered wheelchairs. However, once inside, the aisles are wide enough for most wheelchairs and walkers. Motorized wheelchairs will work better here.

Outdated prices on their outside signage are misleading. After you order, you get charged a higher price than the outdoor sign says. Not a reputable business practice.

The food is fresh the snacks are gas it’s open late and closes last before you ask the the bathrooms closed most don’t know the half of what goes it’s on the hill so come and chill they got it all it’s all for real some like to steal some strike a deal they’ll bite your heels or buy your meal if you’re a fiend of Philly cheese, chili fries or nicotine go feast your eyes go get your fix fulfill your belly open to any it’s known to many as smelly deli

got a bacon egg and cheese ans received a ducking roll with only egg on it. no bacon or cheese. fully not even close to bare minimum. i want my money back.

Great Boulder Staple! I have been going with my family for many years. This place is a great combination of a fun grocery store geared to college needs and also a delicious grill for Gyros, Cheesesteaks, fries and more. Pro tip - fries on the gyro or cheesesteak.

I've been to Smelly Deli many times to get the essentials and they always have what you're looking for. Their deli has such a variety of really tasty foods that you crave all the time. I highly recommend their Falafel and Hummus pita wrap 10/10. The owner is always extremely friendly and will assist you however she can. This is a place that takes good care of you as a customer and has the care and quality that is missing from many other places today.

I loved this place hope shopping for my kids! They have everything any student can need, quick convenience store, and good hot food.

I should have asked for a refund. Consistency is everything. The three beef gyros i got are tiny. Outweighs any good gyros ive gotten from here. Very poor english from everybody. Very little and burnt meat, look!

Sandwiches are off the hook.
