ZERO STARS. We made a reservation online and showed up on a busy Friday night in Breckenridge for our reservation and the restaurant was closed. No call, no email notice that the restaurant was closed. Just a handwritten piece of cardboard poster stating “closed”. Looked like a child wrote it in bubble letters. We found out later from a service industry person at a restaurant we went to instead (Kenosha- which was awesome btw) that the owners were not paying their staff and had numerous issues in the recent months with service, cleanliness and issues paying their employees. What a joke of a place in a prestigious tourist town like Breckenridge. Do not support these fools. (2-24-23)
We made reservations for dinner and upon walking up to the doors was greeted by a Sorry Closed sign written on poster board. No notice or cancellations of our reservation. We were then forced to find somewhere else to eat on a busy Friday night.
We made a reservation over. a month ago for a special family celebration because we had had a great meal a year ago. Unfortunately, our experience last night was incredibly disappointing. They were out of everything we attempted to order. The server recommended a charcuterie board for starters but it never came. Our other app came with dinner. Our second round of drinks never came. The server was very kind and apologetic but the management did not do anything to try and make it right. With so many good restaurants in Breck, I would not recommend this one at this time.
Had drinks and stayed for dinner at the bar- all good for a nice night out with friend. After failing to get an Uber in a snowstorm the owner stepped in and got us a ride. We appreciate the extra mile they took on our behalf.if
This restaurant is set in a wonderfully historic old building. The service was great especially our waitress Tamara. The menu was limited but all the selections everyone had were really good.
The worst experience I’ve ever had. Horribly understaffed. The poor servers were completely overwhelmed and in an impossible situation. We waited forever for food and drinks and they were out of almost everything we wanted. Lots of people getting up and leaving because of the service. The food that we finally served was so bad that we were worried about the safety of it. Our drink glasses were dirty and the bathrooms were filthy and overflowing. Two employees had a big fight right in front of us. Nobody acknowledged how bad this all was and our server (who was nice but completely overwhelmed) didn’t really speak English and couldn’t do much for us. This place used to be great. What a shame.
Worst experience ever. An egressive, drunk personnel who has no respect for customers. It should be closed for being a threat for tourists. They shout us get the F…out of here and almost agreed us for nothing.
Hard to describe the chaos of this experience. No wine list available so we had to view the menu on waitresses iPhone which was novel !Most affordable bottles out of stock anyway. Menu items (particularly all with pork elements) not available. Wait staff appeared distressed and anxious throughout service and having to apologise constantly for errors and lack of organisation. Meals seen to be leaving the kitchen at random and t-shirted wait staff wandering around looking for correct table to serve. General disarray and lack of management. Random man appeared to be walking the floor but not engaging , but leaving staff to fend for themselves in light of unhappy customers. Food was a more happy story - roasted Brussels appetiser very good. Entrees fine but we waited over 35 minutes. Such a shame - having visited Breck twice previously this was our stand out place to visit -things have sadly changed.
Stopped by for a couple of drinks on a random Wednesday night and got super lucky to have found this bar/restaurant. We had a couple of drinks, I highly recommend The Dayman. Miami Matt, and Justin were super cool bartenders! The vibe was awesome. Definitely check this place out.
Very disappointed in our experience. Modi’s was one of our favorite spots over the years. The service was subpar this trip. The food wasn’t as wonderful as the past. Hope they can make improvements

I just walked out from one of the worst dining experiences of my life. We arrived for 5:45pm new years reservation. We were seated upstairs. We have our drink orders 45 mins later we still didn’t have a drink. When I asked the waitress for assistance she said she hadn’t had time to go to the bar, and then turned away, i walked over to another waitress and asked for assistance but she turned away, so I ended up getting up going down stars and serving myself the pre-dinner cocktail. At which point our meals arrived so no time to order any wine for dinner. Our meals were terrible - my daughter and I ordered steaks that were so undercooked they were inedible - the vegetables were so over cooked and the potatoes was cold - how do you even get those three combinations on one plate at the same time?! I have been in Breckenridge for a week - we have eating out every night and every experience has been incredible. This place should never has sold out their tables when they could not staff the tables. Stay away or you will end up serving yourself drinks and leaving a $50 steak on the table. Never again.
Horrible Horrible Horrible If I could rate a zero I would. Food, service, vibe all HORRIBLE. I don't know what happened since we visited last year but our experience was a nightmare. And not just us... all tables were unhappy and complaining. Avoid!
Over the last several years Modis has become our tradition for Thanksgiving dinner. This year they let us down somewhat, for the first time ever. There were plenty of positives. The food was great and the atmosphere relaxing. The staff were friendly, despite having to hustle to cover on a short-staffed night. For Thanksgiving they only had a fixed course menu with just a few choices to make. The prime rib was unavailable, which was disappointing until we had the best smoked turkey ever. They had also run out of some of the vegetables and had swapped in corn on the cob. I appreciated that the chef came out personally to apologize for the slowness and the substitutions to the menu. If the meal was extremely slow (over two and a half hours), it was partly because they took the time to get creative and deliver quality alternatives. There were two main detractors to the whole experience. One was how long everything took, even though we had one of the last reservations of the night and the place was half empty. The other was that we never had drinks other than water at the same time as our food. It was like a four course dinner alternating appetizers, then cocktails, then wine, then dinner. They were understaffed. We appreciated that the staff who were there hustled and made conversation. Still, in this time when some places can't get staffing, others seem to do just fine, as was our experience at two other upper-end restaurants in Breck the next two evenings. When you drop $500+ on a family experience, you expect it to be top notch.
Visiting breckenridge for a couple of days and decided to try this place. The mussels and oysters were delicious along with the steak. The decor of the restaurant reminded me of a speakeasy bar.
Drinks are amazing!! Appetizers and desserts are amazing! Entrees are over priced and do not taste very good. The best part of my entree was the broccoli. The atmosphere is great and the service was good. I would come back for drinks, apps, and dessert but would skip the entrees.
