Atmosphere is really cute. The employees are all very friendly and offer great service. We stopped by on a Friday and it was after the lunch crowd so we were served quickly. Portion sizes are good and match up well with the prices. The food is good and fresh. Everything seems to have a bit of a peppery taste to it. Not chile pepper, but black pepper. Beans and rice are good.

We went to Ortega's after a soak at Dessert Reef, and in all honesty we were driving to another restaurant, but when my wife saw the number of cars and how busy this place looked we decided to give it a chance and we are very glad we did. I had the soup of the day (Cream of Poblano) and a patty melt. Both were well cooked and tasty. The soup was something I'd never had before and it is definitely something I'll be thinking about. Having a picky eater who doesn't eat cheese and going to an unknown Mexican resteraunt away from home could have been rough. Not here!! The kids menu had so many options!! He ended up with bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and toast for dinner. It was way better than IHOP and better pricing too. He was one happy kiddo!
I had the green chili enchiladas- one pork and one cheese and onion, which were delicious. The whole pinto beans were amazing, as I always prefer them to refried...
