Knew it was going to be expensive when we found there were no prices listed on the menu. For two margaritas and four tacos, $60 was no steal. The pork was dry, the toppings were wilted; the comically small tortillas were the highlight of the meal. The margaritas were okay, rather weak, overly smoky and I have a pair of chapped lips to show for the amount of msg they used to rim the glass. You are better off at a bar if you want quality food at a decent price in Carbondale.

We were able to easily secure great seating outside for our group of 5. Wait staff was friendly and helpful re: menu option details (allergens, spice levels, portion size, etc.). The food itself was very delicious. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their tacos, and I really loved my bowl of pozole verde (chicken). Excellent dinner spot!

Server was clueless, hard to believe she could remember how to get to work each day. Then 20% tip added to our bill (4ppl),when asked, the bartender told us "some tables automatically include tip, some don't??? Gave up trying to understand, but the food was really good...

We were there last Sat for Happy Hour. 5 Margaritas, 1 beer, chips & salsa and chips & guac came to $117. She never presented a bill. There are no prices on the menu. She handed the credit card device to us & said, here's the part for the tip. 20% had already been added for a party of 6. DON'T GO THERE! Margaritas were not the best in town; they didn't taste good at all. Confirm the prices before you order. Each Margarita was $15. We'll never go back!

This place charges more than they advertise on the menu. The food is so mediocre, we could've made it better at home. It took over an hour to get what we ordered. So far from worth the price this place is a must skip don't get scammed.

What a true Jen AXKAWA is! The history and cultural tradition this lovely restaurant offers Carbondale is fantastic. We had out of town family visiting and decided to try it since we are new residents and had not gone. The experience begins as you walk in the door, with all of the rich, Hispanic yet modern and minimalist vibe. The owner was our server and she took time to explain the name, and all of the art in the restaurant as well as how the incredible drinks were created. So fun. The menu is not extensive but has something for everyone and the freshness of the food takes it to another level. The prices were so reasonable. The drinks were incredible as well. We look forward to becoming regulars! Thank you for a great evening!
