Cold Cobb Salad with blackened chicken was the perfect late lunch on a HOT day. Restaurant was very busy but to be expected. Staff hustles to make up for the large space & they are very friendly and attentive even when pressed for time.

My husband and I stopped at Castle Cafe on our way through Castle Rock to Raton. I had read that they had great fried chicken. They were very busy but we were seated right away. Our server was very sweet and friendly. She brought our drinks right away. We both ordered the fried chicken which is 4 pieces, half a chicken, mashed potatoes, veggies, and delicious rolls. We already knew it would be a 30 minute wait if you ordered the chicken because they cook it to order. While we waited we had some chicken noodle soup. She brought our fried chicken and sides family style. It was so much food! A whole platter of fried chicken, a huge bowl of potatoes, a huge bowl of veggies and a gravy boat full of gravy. Everything was homemade like your grandma would make it! You want to be very hungry when you order the fried chicken and probably don’t order soup before!

Limited menu, always packed, parking not good and high menu prices. Simple lunch for three people with 2 beers including tip was a little over 100.00.

Great service, delicious food. However it is do loud with conversation, ( can not comprehend any topic of discussion.) Hard to enjoy a meal. Even the music that was playing was drowned out.
Parking: Love this place. Would like to go when the noise level is lower.
Go for the fried chicken, come back for everything else? A timeless restaurant in downtown Castle Rock, that's what this is. The pastrami sandwich special was to die for, and service was cheerful and attentive.
